It's something i've been dealing with for quite some time now.I've been through so many situations where people have taken advantage of me in some way in the past ,which leads me to be suspicious of people getting close to me.In other words,my guard is always up....in fear of getting screwed over.Is there any way i can get over this? I just plain hate people because of it.I'm good at knowing who to trust and who not to trust, but it's getting to the point where i always feel that evry one is against me in some way.

Welcome to my world. I feel the same. However, I've learned to get over it. I got over my issues because I met a guy who I was able to trust.... although I still have issues once in awhile, it's not nearly as bad as it was. My guess is that something in your childhood has triggered your trust problems. I would say your best bet is to seek counseling. You can and will get over it!

Something to that degree is happening to some of my friends right now. This is what I say to them:

The people you meet today and throughout your life do not represent all of the people that have ever existed, lived, and who you'll later meet. I know there's many mean people out there, and that makes it hard for us to trust the world around us. But there are some seeds of good. Don't ever give up hope. You need to risk some to gain some, always. The bad will always be there, so search for the good.

We judge people according to our experiences. Yours sounds like it has been drastic. I suggest looking at a person around you, and trying to find one good thing about them everyday. The people that don't seem to be doing so well, remember that they might not be on their best behaviour because they're tired, sad, or like you.

I know I'm just a stranger to you, but I wish I could help you. We'll always have room to suspect what appears in the virtual World Wide Web, but here, I hope some people are sincere.

What the world needs now, is sincerity and care. But nothing will happen if we give up hope. God guide you. Ask Him for help, and look at things from His view. I'm not saying anything bad about you, but He can seriously help.

been in your place many times. after a lot of research i have my opinion on this matter, which is people would have never taken advantage of me, if i didn't really want it. i think, and i speak for myself and only, that i was either too kind and flexible, or didn't really consider things as i should. not to trust easily now days shouldn't trouble you so much, because not everyone trusts easily anymore! i would say you have to be a bit more careful with people, and don't be "open" to them, at least until you find out what their intentions are. be cool, it happens to everyone....

people are not always against you but the probably have a different idea, and they is no way of telling if you can trust someone you just have to take a chance and hope for the best

You have to give most people a chance..some you may feel have approached you as an enemy..but not all people are there to harm. Just..take it all in slowly..befriend the person, and observe..if you feel the person cant be trusted, slowly detach..it should be easier that way.
