fictional heroes are created to be heroic. real-life ones sometimes fall into that role by accident or opportunity.

which type of hero do you find it easier to admire? what heroic qualities do you admire most? why?

Even people who are indifferent to death when young get fearful when thinking of death at an old age? Why is that and should we really fear it as a terrible event? Haven't we just be taught wrongly to fear this inescapable ending?

Falling Angel, Broken Wings

i guess they could never call me an angel
And I never had wings that would grow
But these burdens they place on my back
Have taken me down to the bottom

Always wanted to be good and do the things I should
But I never quite came close
I was the black sheep, every familY has to have one
And I was the black sheep of mine

Tried so hard to make it happen
But hopes don't make dreams come true
I got all tangled at the bottom
And never made it to the top

Fallen angels, broken wings
If I could have been an angel, would I have failed there too
More than likely, for my chances were not good
Never made it to the surface and I never left t he ground

All the rest have wonderful traits
Always doing what they should
But I ran into trouble and could not stop my fall
Falling faster, falling to the ground

I guess I hurt a lot of people in this life I've lead
Never meant to do it on purpose
But I did it all the same
And I lost everything somewhere along the way

So I'm not a fallen angel, nor do I have broken wings
I'm just a throwback, that sometimes happens by
And I lost it all in the living
And trying oh so hard

So forgive me if you can
I you can't, I'll try and understand
Cause not everyone can be an angel
Even ones with broken wings

I try harder, but it never seems to work
I just make more trouble
A lot more than Im worth
And I'm not a falling angel, even one with broken wings.

i realize there are a lot of scenarios with teeth falling out, but my dream is that I clench my teeth to the point of crushing them to bits. I struggle in my dream to stop myself because the pressure is so realistic, but I have no control and my dreams always result that my teeth don't just fall out...but they burst into pieces.

And what is your story?

I had a teacher who helped me a lot in grade school when I was being bullied from my peers. He encouraged me to do better in school, to smile often and not to worry about what other people think. He even took out time from his own teaching schedule to give the class a speech about equal treatment of students. He made me feel like I had someone there to support me. Needless to say, he had a huge part in making me the person I am today. I smile all the time, even at strangers, I don't think twice about what other people think, and I know for the fact that I am not perfect but that's no reason for me to be ashamed of who I am.

We have managed to keep our friendship strong even though I moved thousands of miles several years ago. Recently my best friend confessed that deep depression was causing a lack of communication- via email or phone but that I would be contacted when the depression passed or at least lessened. Months have passed and I heard nothing but I respected my friend's request for "space". Recently I sent a modest but thoughtful (I thought) gift for my friend's birthday, but I confess a small part of me hoped it would elicit some communication after all of this time. Both my gift and my voice mail of birthday wishes went unacknowledged. Have I made it worse with my gift? I don't understand depression! Does it make people want to lose valuable friendships? So far I am just super concerned. Has depression crossed over to just plain rude? Should I be mad? I don't want to be. I just want my friend back!
