Piracy continues to affect modern commerce on the high seas, ranging from large commercial vessels to private yachts and even a report of an attempt on a passenger cruise ship. There are websites that list attacks and hot-spots.
Armed pirates on small high speed craft will board vessels and rob them of valuables, or even steal the vessel and cargo.
The perpetrators can be just a small group of individuals to highly organized groups.
