Whenever I see another person yawn, I get this irresistable urge to yawn too. But when my pets yawn, it doesn't make me want to yawn. Does this happen to anyone else? Does anyone know why our pets don't make us want to yawn like other people do?

I am a 24 yo straight man and I never had a gf or anything close to a gf. Lately, I have been wondering about how that has affected my brain/mental development and how it will continue to do so.

Any response would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I get very uncomfortable if I have to express myself to friends or family, and I don't think they'd understand anyway. Sometimes i just feel utterly alone. Have you ever felt this way and if so how did you cope?

Do you want to stop? What holds you back... I drink to much, but I think I am self-medicating... what holds me back is the fear of having to live my own life without a "pain-killer".

This phobia seems fake to me. I'm watching a show about it on National Geographic, and the lady smiles and forces herself to cry when she sees a clown. It's so fake.

We have responsibilities to take care of our elderly parent. When I confront them, they just deny even if they don't make sense or it is obvious. Right now I just ignore, but then they thought I bought what they said.

My birthday is coming soon. I'll be 19. I'm just curious to know if anyone else was freaked out by the prospect that they're not really a kid anymore.

As you grow up, you're gradually expected to be more and more of an adult. But I don't feel like an adult.

My wife and sister-in-law are of the opinion that promiscuous women are almost one and all victims of some sort of childhood/adolecent molestation or rape. This would include strippers, pornstars, and prostitutes. Therefore, support or promotion of the above activities is by proxy support of child molesters. They seem to be of the opinion that there are no, or at least very very few, naturally occuring promiscuous women. I admit this all seems to have some truth to it. I could see how a girl who has been molested or raped cound be conditioned into thinking "thats all she's good for". However, being the skeptic that I am, I refuse to support their opinion 100% until its validity had been proven by more demanding means. Have there been any studies, ala Masters and Johnson, that shed light on this assumption?

My problem with their opinion is that the molestation factor only applies to female promiscuity. They believe women under normal circumstances are not promiscous, however men are.

A few years ago, after a severe accident, I had a Tracheoctomy, (Hole put into my neck so I could breathe), however, because air no longer passes over our vocal chords you can no longer speak.
However, when I was trying to speak or even shout, I could hear my voice whilst others couldn't. If that is true of our hearing, what about our other senses? If we don't perceive the world around us as others do, what is the true perception of reality. Like, when we hear our voice on a recording it sounds different than what we think we sound like! Do we see what is really there or is it our brains that tells us it's perception of what is there. Is what you see as Blue the same as what other people see as Blue?
Can we be living in the Matrix? : )
