Set an alarm clock and stop watching no matter what when it goes off (or better use the "sleep" timer if the tv has one). Reduce the time step by step each day. Avoid having the remote in your hands so you wont switch channels all the time. Eventually you'll get to a comfortable level.

first you not try to stop watching TV immediatly.i know it is very difficult to brak anyone habit.then you start to brak your habit slowly means if you watching TV 6 hours then from today it self watching TV about 5 hours.everyday this hours make less for TV.and finally about one ya two week you break your habit of watching tv..

You need a hobby something to get you away from that tv try a second job or read a good book, there is so many other things to do.

I see t.v as watching other people live there own lives and you sit there doing nothing but wishing you had that car.
I stopped from that and spent more time doing things I wanted to do.and I got the car!!
You wont miss it much I dont!

Get rid of cable. There is nothing decent on with out it and therefore I don't watch TV any more.

oooo, I feel sorry for you. I've pretty much quit watching TV...I watch maybe and hour a week, and it feels great! Just quit watching it slowly and you wont even want to anymore. Kind of phaze it out!
