I have a bad habit of smiling at the stupidest, most inappropriate times.
In class I frequently start smiling and having to hold back laughter for absolutely no reason. I just start smiling.
This happens when I`m trying to say something bad, like if there`s a funeral or if someone got in trouble.
I really want to stop! What should I do??

What makes this $20 Million a year stuffed shirt make him think he's worth enough to support 500 families, when the guy/gals doing the work can't make ends meet on their pay check---even when living frugally. Is there some arrogance here? Are our values in the right place? Who is making the decisions to create such a disparity in compensation. Why? Do they have an ax to grind? Are they a constructive part of a system that perpetrates such unfairness? Is there greed here? What can the widget maker do about it ? What can you and I do about it? These same questions apply equally well to sports players and entertainers. Why do we vote with our pocket books(buy tickets) to support this unfairness. Where are our values that we give a guy $1 million a year to play baseball, but think our kids will get a good education paying his teachers $40,000 a year?
Do you get my drift? Can we change this lopsided, out of whack value system which has us by the tail? What can you and I do?

My son is 8 and we have seen more and more anxieties beginning to surface, which leads to perseverations, and repeating of lines from televisions and computer at school. Awhile back a doctor wanted to try him on Prozac, without even really knowing all his symptoms so I was skeptical at the time. But now, I have heard many success stories pertaining to peoples use of it in their child with Autism. If you have used it on your child, what symptoms were you trying to control and did it help?

Everyone knows that if you have over 100,000 a year salary, you receive back 40 cents from every dollar you pay the government, but the poor receive back 8 dollars. (estimates only)

I'm curious as to which race of people takes the most money from those who produce. For instance, how many dollars does an Asian middle class executive spend on black people, white people, indian people, OTHER asian people? Likewise, how much money do each of these races spend on each other. I'm curious as to how many dollars per paycheck a white man like me spends on blacks and Mexicans.

This is not meant to be racial in any way, but a purely sociological question.

I heard the word mammie means nanny, and its because the black women used to breast feed the children of the white people that they used to work for. How is it that the whites could not accept blacks as people but didn't mind having their children breastfed by them?

I'm 47, wife, mom of three, nice home, a good life for the most part. Thing is I'm tired of being who I felt I was suppose to be all my life. I want to start telling the truth about life. I want to curse when I'm angry ( saying the F word in my house, my parents house, has always been a huge no-no). When people piss me off I want to tell them so without keeping all my feelings in and being sweet and tactful. When someone makes me happy, I just want to lay a hug and kiss on them instead of thinking about it and wondering if they would mind...etc.
I want to shake off all the niceties, all the rules and just be. I'd still be me--I'd still be a good person, just honest to myself and others. Thing is would my family and friends freak out? Would they think I was losing it? Recently when I yelled out a "F*ck!" because I stubbed my toe, etc...my family gets very weird and talk about how mom said the F word. (my youngest is 14-oldest 21-all at home)
Can't grown-ups grow up too?

You walked lightly into my life
Captivating and lovely to my mind,
At first, I never cared who you were
Now I don’t know who I am without you,
You kissed me
I felt my world change,
You held me
I heard my heart awaken,
You loved me
And my soul was born anew
You walked lightly into my life
Now my heart knows who you are
And with every breath
And every step
I take down lonely roads,
Your hand is my staff
Your voice is my guide
Your strength my shelter
You’re passion my awakening.
You walked lightly into my life,
And all my pain
You took as your own,
And all my fears
You cast into the sea,
All my doubt
Lost in your eyes,
You walked lightly into my life
And no matter if you choose to stay or go,
My life is forever changed,
Just because you loved me
For a moment in time.
And because I choose
To love you
For the rest of mine.

Already meeting her for dinner, so that can't be the gift also. So what's a good gift for a lady friend that you haven't seen for a year, that isnt a gift card or dinner? Thanks in advance.

That is an article I stumbled across. The writer is talking about how 'womyn' (appparently anything with 'men' in it is evil) shouldn't have to be dependent on men.

Why do feminists reject cooperation so badly? Though very few men rely on women for their wage, almost every man relies on women to raise him as his mother and to bring him and his children happiness when he is married.

She bases this upon her decision that any interaction with men will result in 'male violence'. Despite the fact that most violence is directed at men and half of domestic violence is directed against them. (http://www.glennsacks.com/4_feminists_myths.htm)

What gives? I'd like to hear some feminist views on the matter.
