i recently lived in brazil for 4 years & it was ridiculous, the majority of men expect that the woman do as she is told & not have her own thoughts & opinions...many men would prefer that their women remain home, cooking, cleaning & caring for children all the day, then catering to the man`s needs when he arrives home from work...it`s a very-male dominated society...sadly, physical abuse toward women in those countries is also high...how is it possible that women will put up with this type of thing??? lol i guess i`m just too independent & outspoken, but i offended many a man in brazil!!! so i say, good for me!!!

I recently met a guy online who lives in a different country but close enough to visit. He seems like the answers to my dreams. He's honed in on all my vulnerabilities and says all the right things. He dropped the 'L' word within days of communicating with me and talks a lot about a long term/distance relationship, sex, having children together, relocating to where I am. What we have is very intense . I have no way to verify if what he tells me is the truth - eg about his family, friends, or work. He's never asked me for any like money but I found myself offering to pay for half of his ticket (he's coming to visit next month). I have deep seeded personal issues, which I've shared with him and he has accepted. Although I am well liked, attractive, and social well adjusted, I've suffered from serious low self esteem and insecurity my whole life. He hasn't displayed typical sociopathic traits, but I can't help but thinking that I'm being set up.

a few days ago i was trying to describe to someone how a situation can be everything or nothing. like almost to the point where something consumes your life so much, that it ultimately is worthless to you. i tried to describe it using metaphors.

they just told me that was a stupid way to think. and that i need to grow up and stop acting like a child.

have you ever noticed the adds for free credit reports, and it says the average American credit score is in the high 600's -like around 680? If many are struggling, how come the average credit score is pretty good? How can people afford to pay their bills? Wouldn't it stand to reason that credit scores would be lower? I am in no way a math whiz nor was I an economics major, that is why I am asking this question in responce to the many people who are going to call me an idiot because I do not know something.

I'm in continuing contact (personal e-mail) with many, many Q&A users, generated by their questions of assorted confusion, depression, circumstantial anxieties. Most have become "friends." I don't believe in giving "blatant" advice, but rather ask questions that they can then ask of THEMSELVES. (As I would with any client.) The positive responses have been rewarding; I don't get "paid," I simply care. Yet, I've recently gotten some rather hostile e-mails intimating I "read too much between the lines" (!) & they're NOT going to e-mail me again! I interpret this as someone who truly doesn't want to look within, & that's fine. I've also noticed quite a few thumbs down on my answers. So this is my question: How do you think people "may" respond when I use "Psychologist" as my source? Bad experiences with psychologists? That I'm "puffing?" I'd really appreciate your input. The more, the better. Thank you so much.

I'm constantly losing things and forgetting things. I have trouble following through with anything, and my absentmindedness is really starting to affect me. I'm 28, so I'm not going senile, but after losing my keys, misplacing tickets, leaving my cell phone everywhere, and about a million other things, I'm going nuts.

How can I get organized and bring some order to my life? This is affecting every facet of my existence and it's driving me nuts.

Are sociopaths automatically 'evil' or deviant? Sure, selfish and uncaring of other people's feelings but that doesn't mean they're all going to end up in jail, right?

I really need help. I've always been a good boy at school, always managed to avoid significant trouble. But lately, this seems to have got to my head and I've been going through a really bad lazy patch. I have a french oral tomorrow I should revise for and GCSE coursework in for Thursday. And I still have about 6 months worth of work to do on it. Now, I simply can't motivate myself to do any work whatsoever, even though I realise that it really needs doing.

Some sensible answers would be greatly appreciated. Bear in mind that I really feel like I don't care whether I get in trouble or not, and my attitude is such that I seem to think it'll sort itself out.

Help please?

If you wanted to socialise but have know one to go out with out feeling uncomfortable etc.?
i like going out and doing thing but but the people i know dont go out much or have boyfriends ect. (it feels like hell will freeze over before they will do somthing.)
ive gone out to places by myself like plays, pubs, movies and festables but if you dont know anyone it horrable and uncomfortable. Also ive attracted to wrong sort of commpany because of it.(i had to get bar staff to call me a taxi and make a quick escape)

also i began thinking of people who dont go out because of fear of looking stuped of being alone.
todays world is not as socal anymore so how can single people or people in a new eniroment do for a night out without feeling uncomfortable and danger and meet people who want the same.

When someone feels a loss...
or is traumatized by the sight of the person who has passed on?
Is this one of the stages of grieving? If so, which one?
How long does that time frame usually take to go away (from one extreme to the other) if a person in mourning was really close to the one who passed away?
Is there medicine to take to get rid of the memory of seeing the body when it was finally discovered that won't interfere with daily functioning?
Does this traumatic memory go away on its own? If so, when?
Also if I bounce around with the stages of grieving, what is that all about? Could that be coming from multiple losses?

I recently had a romantic dream about a kid that lives in my neighborhood. I’m 24 and he’s prob 17 maybe 18. I know dreams mean nothing but I feel like a weirdo for having a dream about the kid who skates by my house and says hello everyday. I woke up and the song “Ms. Robinson” was in my head.

I interpret this dream as meaning I need to find more fun and excitement in my current relationship. After 6 years things can get a little slow. Am I a sicko or is it normal to have odd dreams like this?

It is weird. Whenever I am accused of something that I did not do I always get angry and have to prove that I am innocent. When I am guilty I tend not to care that much. From the people i have talked to this is the opposite reaction(s) of what should happen. Most people if they are not guilty tend not to care and get angry when tehy are guilty. Why am I different? Am I the only one? Is there something wrong with me? Is there some kind of psychological term for a person like me?
