Perhaps you are wearing a T shirt that says 'Look at me!' :) That'd explain it, probably...

I think it is just an awareness we don't usually consider until something happens that makes it apparant.
Like if you feel good about yourself, you feel everyone is looking at you cause you look great.
If you do not look good and you know it then you don't like when everyone is looking cause you think they are all thinking "god what an uck"
I hate sitting on the bus and knowing people are looking at me. I think they are rude but in reality they probably don't even realize they are staring because there is really no place to look when in a bus if you are not reading but at everyone else.
just be glad you aren't seen with your pants down

There are several reasons already mentioned. I like to add INSECURITY.
Some of us, went trough that, because our mind was redirected to "observe" how others "see"us.
It may well be that we also think that others are talking about us for the same reason or other, such as low self esteem.
The best for both situation is be busy with activities and people that you like. In reality, no one has the luxury of time to look at you or talk about you, except in a few situations.

Maybe you just like the feeling of being noticed. Even if people are not looking at you, if you get that feeling and it's good, perhaps your mind is just manifesting your need for attention. (( I'm sorry if that sounds akward... I'm not trying to call you self-centered or an attention seeker or anything.))

It is a form of confidence. You know that you matter and that's the way to feel even if you know the contrary is the truth. Don't forget to smile at people too. and they might smile back. You have an inner contentment, and peace within you. Hold on to that.

I like the option of 3 possibilities:
1. You're really confident
2. You like being the focus of attention
3. You suffer happily of paranoia :)
