If a person can have a job they "love" and not be a masochist, can the same hold for someone who actively uses the gym?

What kind of relationship to pain does a bodybuilder have?

Do you go to the gym out of a sense of need or because you really like to climb 200 flights of stairs for "fun"?

I always get mistaken for a female when talking on the phone, and this also causes a lack of confidence when going to approach new people in all different situations. I always feel like I'm going to be judged because of the sound of my girly voice :( I am willing to work hard to change it!

Ok, first and foremost, my belief in Jesus as our Lord and Saviour is firm. I am a christian. However.....

I am a very musical being, more so than most people I know. I can truly sit, and listen to a song, disect it, and listen to it for hours, singling out each musical part, right down to the drummer or back up singers.

Having said that- the music I love to listen to the MOST is 1940's and 1950's rock. Doo wop, etc.

I was born in 1974, that makes me 33 years old. My parents listened to old country when I was a kid, Kenny Rodgers, Dolly Parton, Geroge Jones, etc.. my parents did not like rock and roll, even "oldies". The closest thing to rock my parents listened to was Barry Manillow. Anyway....

The more I lsten to the old rock and roll, the more at home I feel, almost as if that I belong there...past life regeression perhaps?

It feels so strong, I am beganing to think it means something significant...

Am I crazy? What does this mean? What should I do about it?

I live in Lafayette, LA. I'm 26, DWM. I have not been able to hold a job my entire adult life. I have had 26 different jobs. My ex-wife works at a hotel and talked to a woman who was a pyschiatrist visiting from VA and her and my ex were talking & the Dr. told her I should travel to HOU and see a good Psychiatrist because it sounds like I am mentally disabled and can't work. I have terrible mood swings and they suspect I am on the wrong meds, (Zoloft, Xanax). Here in the city i live in in Lafayette,LA, it's mostly junkies trying to rehab off of oxycontin at all the mental health facilities here. What is wrong with me. I am not lazy. I would work hard. It's just that I don't work well under pressure and always feel like I am all alone and there is no help and I get real mad and feel violent like the HULK and when people screw with me at work I dream of blowing up the buildings and other evil acts. But I never have. I'm a nice guy to everyone at first but then they screw me over.

Okay, I have a bit of a problem, and don’t quite know what to do....

After a break-up it’s been quite a while now, well --- almost a year,

And I can’t seem to be able to re-commit myself in any other relationship, I mean I've turned down a bunch of people, and I have been looking, it’s not like I have not!! But, I am constantly running away from it, I just can’t see myself in one again for some reason,

Yesterday, this guy I had a huge thing for sometime back, told me that he feels the same and also tried to make a move on me, and I just didn’t feel anything at all..... Is that strange?? What’s happening?
What do I do??

Please help, advice and opinions appreciated.

Thanks allot

I recently lost my brother to a murder, about a month ago. I handled everything, the funeral arrangements, the subsequent costs entailed, in fact I think I've handled it quite well. I have not cried, and I worry that this lack of showing tears shows that I didn't love my brother, which is not true.

In the last month at work I have found myself being very abrupt, severely annoyed with patients, got blamed for something that I did not do and at any other time I would have done nothing; but now--I'm telling people exactly what I think about them, their system, their quality of care to other patients. I have been called in once by the Hospital Administrator to 'talk if I need to'.

In this same time frame I have been drinking more. I almost always have had one Southern Comfort, (3/4 water, 1/4 SC) after dinner.. The 750 ml would last months. Now I drink SC straight, several a night, and went to 100 proof SC, go thru same bottle in 1-2 days is this alcoholism? If so, why? or if not, why?

I have heard it said, that it is for several reasons :
* May seem threatening.
* may seem frightening.
* may seem challenging in as imagined (by the one who rejects), as a comment of superiority, which in reality IS NOT!
* May appear not to belong to the group or the majority, rather.
* may seem a subtle way of mockery.
Etc., Etc., Etcetera!!! The more the (!) points the more reasons which may exist for the rejection.

According to anyone interested in replying WHY, if you would - Simply reject WHAT you may judge unfamiliar, as so to feel the right to reject, What in all truth, rather than paranoia, imagination, habit or the unwillingness to further understand the source of what you've chosen to reject - shows through for its' harmless or curious or worthiness?
I find this rejection, without due exploration to be a common phenomena . . and yet, there are many times when the "unfamiliar" would help us move ahead, advance, call it what you will.
Interested and courageous people, respond.

I have come to believe that the majority of our issues are a direct result of society wanting immediate gratification. We dont want to really work for or at things. Divorce, loss of jobs, raising our children, the list goes on and on. Are we a society of half assers who whine and make excuses when life requires persistance and dedication?
