It's luck.

Where you end up is where you start. And some folks are born to good parents who aren't disabled, or who didn't go bankrupt or get fired *ever*. Some folks are just plain *born into* prosperity and stability and coast all of their lives. Or....

At least they are born into a community or clique wherein, if someone *has* to work hard for the money, they are at least allowed to, and are not treated like a total outsider. Again, it is a question of having the good fortune to *have friends and family* who care about you and want you to succeed.

Why? Because a Minority of One cannot *possibly* succeed in America anymore. It just doesn't happen. I've *tried this* since I was ten years old, to get the education, the jobs, and the life. People just *won't* let you be a self-made person anymore, they'll lie, cheat and outright steal from you if they don't like you right away. I have had this happen to me way too many times, I can no longer stomach either blaming myself or assuming it's a "coincidence", ok?

So yeah, I'm saying it...it's all about the cronies. All about lucking into the "almighty privilege" of sucking up and kissingass because your own efforts as an individual aren't *allowed* to matter. It is all about being born into the money and the fake plastic friends.

And man....trying to fight all that and *be someone* wears me out....it wears me *OUT*, know what I'm saying? ^_~

Sorry to be a bummer but I am just calling it like I see it, telling the God's Truth here to my best knowledge and limited, biased understanding of it. Thanks for your time.

This is a great question. It goes with the old saying "The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence".....however, it might be more of a "perception" issue rather than actually "living better".....case in point--the husband and wife who live 2 doors down with brand new cars, fancy clothes, always leaving on exotic vacations, only to find that their entire lifestyle is funded by enormous amounts of credit card debt.
Or the people who live in a mini-mansion but there's no furniture because they can't afford it. Or the woman I work with who has a 40k SUV but complains about her son's public school education and wont send him to a private school because "I cant afford it" (we have 2 college prep schools in town).

Because we live in a capitalistic society, where the wealth and luxury of the few is based on the hard labor of the many.

cause they're happy. or just content.

p.s. the more you get the more you want.
greed is a snowball that begins in childhood.
you should never buy your kids love; it has the opposite affect...
but you won't care. and neither will they.

if you have a hundred billion dollars? buy em a toy train and love the **** out of em for christm,as.
don't do the same.
