My boyfriend has severe OCPD. For those of you who are familiar with OCPD, there's no need for me to go into detail.

What support groups are there for people like me - not the person who has the disorder - but the person who loves someone with the disorder?

I'm looking for tips and advice on dealing with his OCPD. I get so frustrated with him and often feel like he and I fuel each other's fire. Now that the disorder has been recognized, I feel I owe it to he and I both to help ease some of our stresses.

Please don't suggest treatment for him - it's just not going to happen! (Sucks, I know!) That's why I'm asking for support systems for family and friends of people with OCPD.

If you can supply a link, I would greatly appreciate it!

Thanks!

I would like to experience happiness, contentment, a feeling of self-worth, love, being a mother, being able to help victims of crime, and wealth wouldn't hurt. But I'll settle for the others.

Some jerk of a girl said that I am both arrogant and have low self confidence. I really do not care, but I think it is ironic that anyone could both of these traits. Feel free to share your thoughts.

SWORD SEIZED AFTER MAN MISTAKES PORN FOR RAPE
http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/02/22/porn.sword.ap/index.html

"OCONOMOWOC, Wisconsin (AP) -- A man says he broke into an apartment with a cavalry sword because he thought he heard a woman being raped, but the sound actually was from a pornographic movie his upstairs neighbor was watching."

Finally! A real man takes us seriously and helps defend us from misogynists. Chaarge!

"Van Iveren, who lives with his mother in the downstairs apartment, said he did not call police when he heard the noises because he does not have a telephone."

See? HE LIVES WITH HIS MOTHER. Proof positive a mother makes an exemplary parent and men that love them so much they remain with them are exemplary citizens.

"Van Iveren charged with criminal trespass, criminal damage, disorderly conduct"

For stopping a potential rapist? The realest man ever? Hot pic with the article.

There have been many stories from history that have ended in a 'perfect type' of way. For example take 'The Little Sea Maid' (also known as 'The Little Mermaid') from Hans Christian Anderson. At the end of the story when she is unable to kill her love she throws herself from the ship ready to die but instead is 'saved' from death by children of the air. OR 'Le Belle te le Bete' (I believe it is, my French is very rusty. Also known as 'Beauty and the Beast') from Jeanne-Marie Leprince De Beaumont where the primary female character eventually finds a way to love the beast.

But the real world is not like this, and if presented with a real world example we are in the most part unable to accept it, it is to perfect in a way.

So my question is, if we like these fairy tales and hold them as an example for what can be why do we not strive to achieve it? AND Why do we resist it, and try to change it to what we are comfortable with?

Serious answers only.
Please explain your answers.

---someone who has been smoking several times a day for over 30 years. Is the pot really the most important thing in life, making sure you have an uninterrupted supply and never run out? Can another person ever be top priority? (I realize there are different situations and different personalities, etc, just looking for opinions from others who may be familiar with this lifestyle)
