Since my hubby and I've been together, (going on 14 yrs.), we've had to change churches like 4 times- twice due to a pastor quitting or college. We have, however, stayed in good contact with alot of people, and even attend when we're in town. Some people have always been our friends, and are happy to see us. But, why do some people- who acted like friends when we were there- and who shake your hand, etc... when you visit... They don't want you to have their email address. This year we wanted to save on postage and email cards. But, our contact is dodging being asked for addys in a way that makes us wonder. (Like she knows that these people, who we have sent cards to every single year), don't want us to have them. We can't recall doing anything to upset, and have even stooped to asking if we've done anything wrong to forgive us. *With no response. Why can't some people bury the hatchet? I haven't a clue.

Have you ever had a real "obsession" where you thought about somethin 24/7 for a long period of time? I did when I was 14 years old. Although it has since passed, I still to this day wonder why and how it happened. How many other people out there have had an obsession?

I don't mean, "I'm obsessed with soccer! I love it, it's so much fun!" I'm talking about you fixated on a person, object, or idea for months, 24/7- it just existed in your mind and you couldn't do anything about it.

At the time, I was writing in a journal, which at times would cause me to over-think and over-analyze things. Am I just an obsessive person? What is the deal with this?

Having the obsession was very difficult because I couldn't go out and have fun. While I was laughing with my friends, I couldn't be fully in the moment because the obsession was still there.

Also, I have found very little information on it. The only things I could find were by Freud and vaguely described.

Here is my dream.

I discovered a doorway in my kitchen that I didn't know exisited. When I went down the staircase there was a huge basement with clean, new cement walls. Windows were letting bright sunlight in and there was a brick fireplace at one end.

My 15 year old son was laughing and running through the rooms with 2 girls.

I heard the doorbell ring and went upstairs. My husband was getting out of the shower and had a towel wrapped around himself. He was in a bathroom that was unfamiliar.

Then I woke up. What do you think???

I was sitting at a fast food restaurant this morning and this old man in his 70's got out of the car beside of me where I was sitting waiting on my mom to come out of the restaurant, and I thought "Is anyone afraid of getting old?" Honestly? Like, 70's and 80's old.

Hi I am to speak at the University in February to a class of 200. This is about a life experience which I won't get in to here.
I am terrified of speaking in public, always have been. My whole body goes into a tense, shakey, uncomfortable existence that is so utterly noticeable. This talk is very important and I want to come across as strong and confident rather than nervous and unsure of myself.
Can anyone offer serious techniques that will help?

Thanks alot.

I have been in a restaurant and visited the ladies' loo and returned to the table, unaware that my skirt was tucked into the back of my knickers (and nobody told me !!!). So that's my story ... what's yours?

I was sleeping in the wee hours of this morning and woke to a feeling that someone or something was squeezing the toe next to my big toe very, very hard. It didn't hurt, just hard pressure.

I was afraid to sit up in bed and look because I thought a burglar might be in my bedroom - it was that real!

Today, my toe is fine. Do you think God would wake me up that way to maybe remember what I was dreaming or something? I do remember what I was dreaming at the time and it was pretty significant.

Thanks!

3 months ago I told my girlfriend I wanted to take some time apart because things were moving fast, and we were getting pretty serious. My girlfriend was very upset, but I insisted and we didnt see each other for a month. When I realized how much I loved her I asked her to take me back. At first she was still angry at me, but after a few weeks she finaly took me back.We are happy for the past two months, but last week I asked if she had dated anyone while we were apart - I did not.I found out she not only did date but she even slept with someone she knows from her gym and someone from her work, she says for about 3 weeks she had sex daily. The past few days I have been trying not to hold in my jealousy.I know it is my fault and I gave her the freedom, but how do I get rid of my rage without showing it to my girlfriend?I have been asking her details of what happened and we have talked, and i feel i need to know altho its hard, i let herknow it is ok if she enjoyed the sexdo u thinkitsok?

According to his theory, know as the hierarchy of needs, one must be loved by others before one can have self esteem. Dd he get things backwards? Don't you need to have self confidence first before others will take you seriously?
