If human beings are the most intelligent of species then why do we have to do all the work?

Not true, Ants and Bee`s have workers nearly all animals
work to feed their young,horses work in different
modes plus many many more that work harder
than the human. Plus the have good intelligence

Because we believe it will give us a better life. For some that may be the case, but for the majority of us, we live very stressful hardworking lives. You have a good point, maybe it's just better to be less intelligent and lead more docile lives.

We don't. We're intelligent enough to use horses, dogs, pigeons and other animals to perform basic tasks. Some things, like carrying excessive loads, we can't do anyway.
Animals are not intelligent enough to tell us to get stuffed, however, so we kind of win, in a sad way.

Well, thinking about it, animals live to take care of their basic needs - food, shelter, etc. Humans tend to not be so satisfied with just the basic needs & make things more complicated than they need to be.
