Food consumption: we eat chickens, steer, fish, etc. but we do not eat dogs, cats, horses, etc. is this because we have a "relationship" with the animals that is nonexistent with the chickens and fish?

Experimentation: we perform experiments on rats/mice, fruit flies, and bacteria, but we do not on dogs, cats, horses, etc. why is this?

for some animals i understand that their numbers are limited and should be treated as such (to prevent extinction) however, why do we value some animals' lives more than others? and by what standard do we base this off of?

is it abundance of that species or a lack of a relationship with that species? or something totally different? why do we as humans do this?

I have blue eyes. Most people have dark eyes. Why am I not considered a minority, qualified for affirmative action programs? If I had kinky hair and dark skin I would qualify.

Before I became saved, I had a better handle on life as a child and a youth than I do now, I had a lot of hope and tenacity and I strived to do my best.

I had a complete nervous breakdown at 16 years old back in 1985.
And shortly after I felt I became a christian and I did, but it was more of an emotional experience.

Now I am in my mid 30s. I get upset and frustarted easily partly to do with bi-polar, I even received some wrong doctrine that life owes me and God will bless me because I do good and am good to others.

I am very blessed I truly am, but there is something inside of me that says if things were this way then I would be happy. I am just learning at 37 years old that I am allowed to be human and not have ALL the answers.

I want to be content the way I was a child, I want to be able to trust again. I want to be able to fully love again and I just want God to revive and and give me hope.

What went wrong in my walk with God in this respect? How do I go forward?

think of all the things you have said and done in your life that somehow went wrong.... things that you were somehow powerless to controll it in all aspects of your power./ s......but somehow,,,, somewhere deep inside, you knew what you had to do to make it right, and yet somehow you ignored it !!!!! what was it for you ? and how did you feel afterwards ? has it changed your life /s ? or are you still the same ? will you move on,???? or be the same person inside forever ? if not , what was it that changed you and all the people and metirial objects around you ?" sorry if this is deep but i need some deep metaphoricial translation to relate to right now before i make some decisions of my own again.... i am a great believer of that a problem shared is a problem halved.... so give me your best shot and bring tears to my eyes and tell us your worst sob story !!!!!

I'm still not an adult and I've lately been very stressed. Some of my friends are being majorly aggressive and mad (not just at me) and I almost lost my temper in study hall today. What are some ways to keep calm without doing yoga or buying some $100 book and video?

Here is the scenario - I dated a guy a few years ago that I dumped because he was starting to show signs of being a control freak and possibly abusive. I still have to say he was the sexiest guy I dated and he was the one that I dated for the longest period of time. We never slept together but things were getting really intense. I have long since moved on but lately I have been having several lucid dreams about him that are usually sexual in nature. Thing is, I want nothing to do with this guy but when I wake up, he is all I can think of. I'm just puzzled why it is always him in these dreams.

People do unspeakable things to each other, often lying to justify them. Animals would never do these things, especially to their own species.

I have nearly completed my level 3 in Health & Social Care, and have got a mind block on how to write my understanding of the legal & organisational requirements on my personal and professioal development...this is what I have written...does it make sense ..if not why not?The legal & organisational requirements, alongside codes of practice, standards and guidance to access training for my personal/professional development under the Care Council of Wales(2001)(Care Standards Act 2000) enables me to obtain the mandatory standards that are necessary for my role .My responsibility is to keep up to date with my training, be aware of what I need to enhance my knowledge and understanding, following the company guidelines, policies and procedures as set down in the Staff Handbook. My personal & professional development is important to me and the encouragement of my Trainining Officer, Manager & Colleagues, all of which enables me to progress through the different levels, which enhances my work

All jerks and woman-haters out there making women's lives misery right now, read this. PS, I am both black and female, and the title's OK with me, so keep your outrage.

Woman is the ****** of the world
Yes she is, think about it
Think about it, do something about it
We make her paint her face and dance
If she won’t be slave we say she don’t love us
If she’s real we say she’s trying to be a man
While putting her down we pretend that she is above us
CHORUS
If you don’t belive me take a look to the one you’re with
Woman is the slaves of the slaves
Ah yeah better scream about it
Make her bear and raise our children
Then leave her flat for being a fat old mother
We tell her home's the only place she should be
Then complain she’s too unworldly to be our friend
We insult her everyday on TV
And wonder why she has no guts or confidence
When she’s young we kill her will to be free
While telling her not to be so smart we put her down for being so dumb

ANY QUESTIONS?

What I mean is that the heterosexual monogomonous ideal - man+woman completely in love is often a fallacy in that many men whilst not admitting it to their partner still letch after other women both in their 'real' life and more often than not porn collection.. yet women often seem oblivious to this..

Evolutionary psychology for example might explain the male 'always on the look out' phenomenon as something many men are genetically programmed to do..unlike women to some extent who have more of an interest in not only being more choosey but in attaining and retaining the affection of one mate who will invest in her and possible future children..

Why then do men not admit to this widespread practice and why do women often believe their bloke is the exception to the rule in that unlike the majority of others he only has eyes for her?

In turn meaning that the ideal is just that and not the norm?
