Often I will dream of myself lying in bed, when i notice a large freakish looking spider descending from the ceiling right above me. I usually end up swinging my arm trying to swat it and that's usually the point when i wake up. I always 'feel' my hand hit it, and that's why I'm always fooled by the dream. I am not arachnophobic. Any ideas of what it could mean?

Last night I had a very strange dream, and there is alot leading up to what I'm about to tell u, but Yahoo wouldn't let me use more than this number of characters. We past by a dead guys house where they were searching through his stuff. He had a collapsable boat and such. We asked for some nails or something, and a man with a mustache said something about stepping on a nickle. He handed us a power bait jar and to my surprise it had a small snake in it that was the cause of the mans death. The power bait jar had a hole in it, and the snake would stick it’s head through the hole. It was so small that it looked more like a worm than a snake. It was supposedly called a nail head, and it was dead. The man whom it bit, had grabbed it and stuffed it into the jar seconds before his death. The man died long ago, and the snake had killed itself by biting itself on the tail (which was scored) to end it’s imprisonment. It had killed itself, but somehow it came back to life. It was very strange.

if suddenly violent imaginations flash in your head due to unresolved anger in the past and at present? violent imaginations, such as, stabbing people in different ways with different weapons, torturing, or whatever cruelty you can inflict, or imagining aiming at a person at a point-blank range and shoot him/her right then and there?

clarification:

before you conclude that it's me, i would like to make it clear that it's not me. i am a frustrated psychologist (LOL!)
i just want to know if that case, mentioned above, is a sign of insanity, or the beginning of it.

what's your views about the matter?

my view is that it is.

i've really evolved into a different person over the past few years. i used to be a god fearing christian conservative who occasionally enjoyed classic rock. now, i'm a blaspheming agnostic liberal who loves jamming out to industrial rock! wow, how did this happen?

What use are all these colours in our evolutionary survival?

Humans evolved like a presence selves (evolutionary-wise) before civilisation, whilst we were still hunter gatherers?

I don't think having the opportunity to see colours does us any harm though, but have they ever been essential?

My original question was going to be, "Why do we fear change?" Yahoo directed me to the same quesiton asked by someone else, and the general consensus is that it's because we fear the unknown.

Okay, so let's make a scenario. There's a new type of email released, but you've been using, say, hotmail for the past three years. You've heard fantastic reviews about this new email, and you know it'll be better than hotmail if you take the time to learn how to use it. Yet, hotmail is reliable, safe. You understand it, nothing new or complex about it, so you don't embrace the change and stand by inferiority.

Why?

For Christmas and birthdays and things like that.

Be honest in your answer! A lot of you will be used to getting presents on certain occassions every year, but I am not. I feel jealous of my friends who get all sorts of wonderful things, and when they enquire what I got, I just smile and tell them not to ask. Is the nature of wanting things you don't need a selfish one?

For example, you're here on Yahoo! to answer questions. Did you ever stop and think why you like it?

Or if someone isn't sure how to do something, and they turn to you for help, why do you enjoy teaching them how to do it?

Why do women think too much? I have to say, though, not all women do, but the majority think too much- including me. What is it about us that makes us think the way we do? I'm very curious about the topic, so I really appreciate any educated answers as well as any guesses / theories!
