Yes this is normal. My husband is going through it now and He is 43 years old. He has slowed down alot in certain areas. He watches TV to escape the pressure he is under and there are definite signs of moodiness or crabbiness.

Don't be so hard on yourself, figure out why you are depressed about being 40 and just pray a lot. This will pass.

This is not "all in your head" just like woman go through PMS as well as menopause men have their changes called mid life crisis and it will be alright and you will be fine.

Take it slow and take one day at a time and yes you are VERY normal

It's normal if it's temporary. You know, if you think about it, when you turn 40 you are only one day older than you were the day before. Many people take stock of their lives on benchmark birthdays (30,40, 50, 60, 70) and feel blue awhile. But if you look at all you have accomplished, you will quickly snap out of it. 40 is only middle age these days. 50 is the new 40. Haven't you heard that? People are living longer and working longer (my husband has retired twice and has a third job and loves it!). Unless you are thinking of changing your life completely, you'll get over this phase. Men who don't get over it may cheat on their wives, buy sports cars, change jobs, and do other drastic things. Get some therapy before you do all that, okay? Most men I know who have done these mid-life crisis things, regret it. And by the way, we women go through a phase like that, too, but we generally talk to our friends about it and get over it quickly.

Of course its normal and am more disturbed by the ridiculous answers you got already. Penises and falling hair is part of life. Nobody expects anyone to be perfect including women so yes, chronologically it might have some significance to you but most people dont look at age, but the person.

Nope, the crisis began when his penis stop getting hard, and some when they start balding....You still have a lot of life to live, so cheer up brother...

To nikilisious, until you have one, then you may talk about it dear. Sadly, people like you are part of the males problems, so get off of my sack...
