Yes, there are MANY out there in the world nowadays that look upon human kindness as a weakness -- and prey on the ones with human kindness.

This is a VERY sad commentary on the world, the jadedness of the generations that came after the one we are in, and the way the laws protect the criminal MORE than the VICTIM/Survivor ... All this adds up to a disturbing vision for the future ...

Absoloutly not. Kindness is not a sign of weakness. Lets give an example your neighbor is so mean to you he/she just does the outragouse things to you such as call the cops make false statements about you or whatever and yet you dont do anything exept still wave your hand say hi nice lawn whatever they are going to get sick of it and stop doing whatever they were doing to begin with {personal experiance} being mean to the jerk wasnt working so i decided to play nice and he cant stand to even look at me he is so confused he dont know what to do and its just been a huge thing for 6 yrs on trying to get me out of my own house so after my mom left cause of his outrageouse crap that he pulled i was constantly nice. and whatever grudge he had on me after two years finally disappeared some people still say it was the grudge on my mom but why after two years would he still be pulling what he did ? So to answer your question being kind is just the perfect way to go about anything being rude may be a sign of weakness in my eyes

Some people look upon kindness as a weakness, but they are wrong; being kind is just the right thing to do. They may learn by example.

I try to be kind, and don't particularly give a toss what people think as a result.

It isn't by well adjusted and kind people, but it can be if you're dealing with some jerk who grew up thinking you have to be a giant AH in order to get respect.

Anybody who is well adjusted respects kindness and sees it not only as a sign of someone else's being well adjusted, but as a sign of a certain type of intelligence as well. The world is full of kind people. They just don't mouth off as often or as loudly as the jerks do. Ignore the jerks and be glad you're a kind and decent individual.

Kindness is looked upon as a weakness only by those who think all there is to life is money and power,or those that think they are superior to us all. Kindness is a display of selflessness not weakness and we should always help those in need who are deserving of our help. Its good for the soul ;P

I think that it is looked upon as a weakness by weak, shallow people. Real people KNOW it to be a strength and the adhesive that binds civilised society together. The world is becoming more and more selfish; this me, me, me dictum will backfire on those living it; you reap what you sow.

Anyone can play tough, it takes real strength of character to be genuinely kind. We are missing character in modern society and this is why our quality of life is dropping whilst the marketing idiots struggle to convince us that we are all doing really well!

Of course, the truth we all really know, deep down.

You WILL reap what you sow, what goes around comes around.

Some people will take advantage of kindness right away, and they see it as weakness.

I will treat people the way I want to be treated regardless of the way they treat me. Because I know that I did the right thing and I can sleep at night. But don't mistake this for weakness because I don't let anyone push me around! If someone insists on treating me bad I will tell them that I will no longer be around them and why.

It all depends upon whose eyes are being looked through.

I've known a great many people who have had, but haven't realised it, ophthalmic problems ~ beginning at the simplicity end of the scale by being 'colour blind.'

Generally speaking, my answer to your question is a No, I don't think of it nor see it as ‘a weakness.’

The rituals of 'sanctuary,' or of 'welcoming strangers / guests' and of 'hospitality,' does not need to have anything to do with kindness. But can have at its basis a teaching / instruction based on philosophy and Rules of 'Obligations to strangers.'

Sometimes, the ‘measure of kindness' can be viewed through 'the cost to the person who's kindness is given.’

I certainly hope not because I believe it takes great strength for a person to be genuinely kind. It is an awesome quality and I thank God that I, too, have been blessed with the gift of kindness.

I think it is. Generally kind people are also weak people who won't stand up for themselves.
I would say that I am kind but to animals. People make the mistake of thinking I'm a weak person or a pushover. They soon find out that I am not!
