I once worked for this woman who said her son was a good guy, intelligent, frugal, kind hearted and so forth. She told me this weeks before I met him. Then I met him, and over the course of time, I found out he was a liar, cheat, unhumanitarian, gross, and a slob, and a miserable person to be with.

Why would a mother lie about her son. I know she loves him, but who was she trying to fool? I got a good image from the mother, but the son tossed the image in the trash.

Moral of the story: Never ever trust the parents if they paint a picture of their grown son or daughter as a saint, because it means otherwise. Get to know them and flee if it's contradictory.

I have been having absolutely strange dreams lately. There was a traveling carnival with games, clowns, mimes and rides. The carnival was at the river's edge. Everyone who went to the carnival and everyone who worked there had a fairy who lived in their closet. I was a fairy in my dream. My soon to be ex-husband's fairy. Everyone was dressed in costume. The dream was silent and I followed him through out the carnival. We stopped at the game where you take the hammer and hit the thing to make the bell ring. And the only sound i heard was the bell. The dream was really wierd.....What do you think it means?

So i was molested as a child and now i am 17. I have told a couple friends but i still cant help but think something is emotionally wrong. I have been pretty good at hiding my emotional insecurity but i think it is time i get some help.
Now I think the logical thing to do would be to tell my parents but. It was their best friend who did it and I don't think that they would believe me. I am also, believe it or not, still a bit ashamed. Hell, I still have to say hi and be nice to the guys each time i see him in church (which my parents make me go to). It kinda takes its toll and most the time i feel like busting out and hurting the guy. Another thing is my parents are ultra christian fanatics. Both of them being ministers and i fear that if i tell them they will make me go to a religious shrink who won't look at the problem logically but instead seek help in god. Not that i dont trust in God.
Does anyone have a suggestion as to what i should do

I'm speaking specifically of economic development in the "developing world" (i.e. poor countries).
Most people would probably agree that economic development is a good thing.
But I am looking for critiques of economic development. Please give me your thoughts if you can think of reasons why development is not always the best thing for a group of people, and list any articles or sources I might consult.

Was at library in the children's section, and there was this woman fighting over her cell phone with her boyfriend and getting louder by the minute. Poor children were sitting there watching her. I got up went over to her and asked her if she could talk a little louder, so I could record it. The annoying woman fled.

Another more serious incident involved a car accident. A woman was talking on her cell non stop, and she ran the stop sign and she crashed into my driver's side, and she still was on the phone, as we crashed! I told her to get off her phone, and let's exchange information. So please, dear people NEVER talk on the phone when driving unless you pull over, or park somewhere.

I have a new friend that I am concerned about. I will try to explain as best I can
This person is always leaving jobs for the flimsiest reasons. Therefore this person is always looking for a job. This person was homeless on several occasions, but has an apartment now. Just recently this person is without a job again and is in danger of being evicted if a job isn't found in time to pay the next installment of rent.
This person is always telling me that they are looking for something better and when they get it, it is not what they are looking for so they quit after a season.
My question is how do you deal with a friend who tells you something and it just doesn't seem to ring true with you? Something is wrong or missing in what they say and you just can't put your finger on it!

is it just someone having a bad day or stale coffee? or do you think that overall there's a big difference in the quality of customer service at similar businesses in different parts of the country? not just friendliness, but efficiency and ability too.

have you noticed regional differences? who, where, when?

extra credit: is friendliness and helpfulness more important to you than professionalism and efficiency? how?

The purpose of the meeting was to try and make things better for me. However, people were accusatory, belittling, threatening and emotionally abusive. Somebody kept giving me serious looks.
Said they wanted more verbal communication from me eventhough I give the most. In return, they didn't give me any information when I asked. Someobdy had to leave because she got upset.

By the way, the president of the company sent me a great letter of congratulations. And they knew about it. The day before this meeting.

I am going to apologise for this long question now.

I have been away all summer visiting my family. My sister made things really difficult for me and for my parents. She is going out with my housemate (I lived with six others) the others made it hell, he was my only ally.

Since my sister has been with this guy she has totally changed - and not for the better. I believe, and I may be wrong that he has turned her against the family. I admit that I used to take up a lot of her time and emotionally depend on her (she is younger than me).

We have moved out of the house on Friday and the night before they both told me that they did not want to live with me! I am devastated. I feel as though I have been betrayed by my sister and friend - who also said I drained him emotionally.

I am seeing the doctor tomorrow to ask for help, but I have been so annoyed with the way they have been hassling me to seek help - they say they are doing it because they care but it's not.

She's had a lot of stress lately. The guy shes was like in love with died from cancer and its been really traumatic for her. Shes had other issues throughout the summer too, and way to much stress for someone her age. She just told me shes been cutting her leg with a knife every day that past 2 weeks. She said part of the reason she does is because of all the stress she's had the past few months. She also said that when she harms herself, it makes her feel better because causing herself pain makes her feel better. She said that when shes cutting it feels good but afterwards it hurts, but she does it again anyway. She also said she's been trying to stop but she can't.

So far her boyfriend and I are the only ones who know about this. She is begging us not to tell anyone else and says we're the only ones she trusts to tell. She said she was afraid to tell us before this because she thought we would tell her parents or the counselers. I dont really know what to do..... someone help!!!!
