I am not able to keep appointments or a schedule due to the nature of my disabilities, I am not able to work. I am on total disability.
I was asking about a philosophy more than a practical idea

One of the most important things in your path is finding peace and presence in the moment. Identification with your life situation will always mean that your situation will dictate how joyful and present you are in the now. Remember, who you are beyond name and form is so much more than the daily occurences or limitations of your body. Your life situation is not your life. I am a massage therapist, and I know many people who thought that identification with metaphysics, and reiki would bring them a magic bullet for healing and growth. they can help for some things, but attachment to those things will also limit you. I am still learning about this myself. Reading The Power of NOw" by Ekhart Tolle really helped me begin to make critical changes in my conciousness. Im no expert. Only an average woman with a desire to fully experience each moment with joy. so goes the path. i wish you the best of luck.

Here's something for you to check out... look into the metaphysical aspects of charismatic pentecostal christians. I challenge you to go to one of their churches...(they may provide you with a ride if you call a larger one)... You might be pleasantly suprised at how meaningful a life they have discovered. If you can't get out... find a church on line that broadcasts their services... there are lots of mega churches that do. One is located here: http://www.jamesriver.org/messages.cfm and you can listen in audio or via video... have fun... I discovered long ago that the devil's fruit is rotten.... and that's what you get in tarot and reiki and astrology.... If you don't like the fruit, get out of his orchard....try something satisfying...

You haven't found it here? Maybe you should read Dr. Burns' "The Feeling Good Handbook". With your education, you should be thinking of all kinds of cool things to do with yourself... disabled or not. Why not start a website like I did?:

You could even teach people on the web. There are all sorts of things you can do with your computer. Find a good forum to share your considerable wealth of knowledge.

With an MA in Ed Psych you get a teaching or consulting gig. Unless you live on the moon there is handicap-accessible transportation available.
Or, you can cash-in on all that pseudo-science and open a Gypsy fortune telling business.

Is there a support group near you for folks with disabilities like yours? If not, you could start one. If you are not into support groups, you could start a club or group for people with similar interests. Even if it's a support group, you could make it so that you guys could do fun things together like eat, play cards, or watch movies, or even just go get coffee.
There are always groups or clubs around to join, and if you start one yourself, you could make it whatever you want.
Volunteering is great, too. Whatever you do, have fun!

Hi Nora,
Volunteer work does wonders. You could work at a children's museum, a film festival...they are so very fulfilling.
Go to an old folk's home and be a buddy.
The police and fire stations use volunteers all the time, plus you'll be around nice looking men.

Is there any way at all that you could work part-time?????? If you can get in touch with a university close to you, they should have a vocational rehab. Maybe you could work from home. I am disabled also and live on a fixed income and believe me, it isnt fun at all!!!!! Best of luck to you!!!!!!!

Get a job teaching, that will put you around more people who need your help. Make your own family with your new friends. Volunteer at a homeless place or a children's hospital on the holidays.

With your knowledge and sensibility you can write thoughts about yourself and the world around you ,you can practice to admire all the people and places around yourself , including yourself who never give up .
