if Hollywod kept eveyrthing historically accurate, then noone would want to watch action packed fictional movies. It's sometimes the false events that get us hooked.

They do all the time. Hollywood is mostly Democrats and they try to make the opposite political party look bad by giving the democratic version of a story. Hollywood does not have to give any thought to historically accurate. Very often they do not. Its like reading fairy tales a dot of truth and the rest made up.

In a way, they do to some extent. But they are not historians and unless they are documentaries;they don't have to be accurate. Remember they have to consider sensationalism, and what generates more profits at the box-office tickets. Besides they make movies to entertain not to depress people. If you portray the true facts or people doing mundane things, the viewing public will deem it boring and would stay away. Most of the time, when screenplays are adapted from books to the celluloid, they do not reflect accuracies in their original format as the authors intended it to be. Oh well, that's Hollywood for you. But they do exert tremendous influence on popular opnions and beliefs.

Hollywood has no social responsibility.
Of course they have the right to misrepresent history and leave out details that you value.
Movies are a commodity. They are made to generate profit. No shame in that. If someone has ulterior motives, that's all good too.
Paying money to see a hollywood movie is not an obligation. You are not forced to watch.

Hollywood can do whatever they want. If you want truth and accuracy, see a documentary at a film festival.
