My mother passed away about 2 years ago. (Tomorrow would be her birthday), and I was living in Texas when I found out my mother passed. My mother was living in Illinois at the time. I wasn't able to attend the funeral, and at the time, I was living with a very mentally abusive ex girlfriend who felt that since I found out about my mom's death on Christmas Eve, that it would "depress" the whole ambiance of the holiday, and that I should "get over it" in about 3 days. My question is, since I guess I never got closure or allowed myself to grieve, it is normal for those feelings to come to the surface NOW?

I am 41, my boyfriend is 42. I have been very unhappily married to a sadistic controlling *** for 23yrs. He treats me bad, but he makes lots of money & I have finicial security. My boyfriend is broke but has a good job he is kind of a nerd( fourty year old virgin) but he treats me like a queen. I would be moving back east to live with him leaving the great pacific northwest & all my creature comforts. love or money???? I would have nothing but love & happiness with my boyfriend & nothing but heart ache & money with my husband....

Okay I am an 18 yrs old male incoming freshman student in Bakersfield College. I am about 5'4 and weights about 260 pounds. My question is how can I be an outgoing person. You know, the one whose willing to take on new challenges that life puts me through. I have a problem of getting out of my shell and be out there. my personalities are: Shy, queit, snobby(but thats maybe due to my bad eye sight) and respectful. I am very creative though and always willing to help out others in need. I got this conscience for other people; example old people, sick people, etc. It is as if my job is to be there and give them sympathy. What should I do. My shyness is keeping me away from the things that I want to do. Heck I don't even have a girlfriend to top that off. Experience people? how can I change myself. I am a nice person, or so as I was told, but the truth is I want to be bad. (joke) I can't even hurt or kick anything or anyone without my conscience hitting me. I need tips to become *OAP.

MY ex friends keep back stabbing me and talking about me behind my back. They're making up really mean lies, blaming all the groups fights on me, and trying to make me hate my real friends by saying stuff like "u wont believe what so and so said about u" when its not true. I hate them but they wont get out of my life. THere making more kids hate and gossip about me, when I didnt do anything. What should I do? I need serious advice. Most nights I end up crying, and I hope things wont get more serius.

I'm embarrassing because when his friends ask what I'm up to, he says I'm doing nothing.

I don't understand him.. we've never gotten along (I'm 20 now).

I just got back from active duty air force (i was gone for a year), and I've been back for 5 months now. I had a job, but I dropped it for the summer, and am currently looking for a new job.

I will also be going to school full-time starting September 6th. I don't really have friends anymore, thanks to being away for a year and losing contact. I thought I'd come back and everything would be the way it was, only better. The fact is, I came back and everyone had written me out of their lives.

So I pretty much spent the summer doing nothing.

My question to you is.. have you ever been told you were "embarrassing" and do you think a parent should justly say that to his kin?

Oh, and just to clear it up, he said it because he meant it, not to 'inspire me' (I used to think that).. he's just a mean person.

Alright I am a paranoid schizophrenic, so this probably answers my own question. However on the internet and around most of my friends I'm fine. But in public or new social settings I fall to pieces. I am more concerned about whats going on around me that I have a hard time concentrating on a conversation. This has totally effected my life, and it started while in the military. When I'm with family or closest friends everything is fine, I communicate fine. Around people I don't know to well it's like........uh, duh, hows it going?...............I always sound real stupid. Anyone else go through this?

I'm not all that fussed, really. I think we should all take a look back at how it was a hundred years ago. SO much less aggravation and stress....people were much more civil then.
I could easily live without my TV, computer, microwave, cell phone..COULD YOU??

My bf is friends with an older,married woman,nearly twice his age,with kids.Theyve known each other for 8 years,and have been 'dating' the entire time including being physical and telling each other they loved each other.When i started dating him it wasnt serious, but he decided that he wanted to start growing up and living in reality- so he stopped seeing all other women, dating only me.But he still is friends with this women.he tells me they had this long talk and decided that he was never going to be able to have a real relationship with someone if they were like the way they were.but i know he still loves her,cant just turn it off, even if he has stopped acting like it. he hasnt denied this.they still hang out occassionally,but he refuses to introduce us because they both dont want to feel it would be stupid and pointless.i love this man with all my heart, but cant imagine marrying someone who loves another woman too. how would you feel about this, am i overreacting?
