I think it's a bad idea, time is going to go and come no matter how they want us to set our clocks.

How can it save electricity? At the peak of DLST, it stays light out until 9:30pm. Here in the South, that just means the A/C runs longer and longer. So if we left well enough alone with the time I would not have to run the A/C much, therefore polluting the environment less.

Good idea. People don't use as much electricity in the morning hours as in the evening hours because they're sleeping in the morning hours (like 4am- 5am). There's light outside, but you're sleeping.

If we move that extra hour of light to the evening time, you'd turn on your lights an hour later. You'd turn on your lights in the morning at the same time (5am), but an hour later in the evening.

Therefore, we all use less electricity, it's about energy conservation.

well over here in New Zealand we kind of have to otherwise it would muck up everything right down to it being to light at night to go to bed or to dark to get up and if you where a farmer it would play havoc with vegetable production coz the time of the day that things should get done can't because of the lighting condition.

I hate DLST only because I think it is so depressing when it gets dark so early. I know we can save on electricity...but I love the extra sunlight.
