My boyfriend and I fart around each other all the time! It's a normal bodily function, why be ashamed of it? And no, it doesn't kill the romance, but it does bring on a fit of giggles sometimes.

It really depends on the couple. For the most part, people tend to do it once they reach a certain level of comfort with their partner. After all, when you either live with someone or spend a large amount of time near them, it starts becoming a lot more inconvenient to go to another room or hold it in every time. Then there are some couples that think it's funny or something so they tend to be open about it with each other. So in a lot of relationships, it's normal. Of course, there certainly are some cases in which one or both parties finds it too gross or rude or something to ever get comfortable with their partner's farts so it's not necessarily something every couple does. In general, though, it stops being such a big deal in relationships after a certain point.

My husband and I fart around each other all the time. We even compete to see whom can out do the other. I let one loose one time and he swore we needed to call in the EPA and the CDC. One to label it and one to name it.
I still to this day have the high score on that one. When two people can be this comfortable with each other, you know you have found true love and companionship.

I think men like the stench they produce. Yes it does kill the romance.
When we were out shopping my ex used to pass gas in the store, then step back away from me and give me a dirty look and shout "geesh woman what have you been eating???" Of course loudly enough for anyone nearby to hear him. What a jerk, and he still wonders why he's an ex.

i have spent much time pondering this very question although i know every body farts i dont think its nice to inhale other peoples "inner gases" upon release! therefore our relationship works well because we dont fart within "sniffing distance" yesterday i heard him do one but once again (pleased to say) was not within "sniffing distance" one exeption to the rule .. i like to fart on my 10 year old son !!!
