I have read alot of books about this but have never gotten a straight forward and simple answer on how to accomplish this--Is it possible to get deep within our own heads and discover knowledge?

The simple and proper practice of regular meditaion is the only way. It has been practiced in Asia for thousands of years. You can discover knowledge that you did not know you have. Meditation also calms and centers the internal dialogue of your mind. It clears the clutter of racing thoughts that can cause stress, anxiety, and confusion. http://TaoBarbie.com see "Ancient Wisdom for Today" which speaks of it.

Meditation is simply calming the thoughts of the mind. It is not a strange and mystic eastern religion. Do not expect to see colors or visions. Most of the time you will only see the inside of your eyelids. The purpose is to stop your inner dialoge or chain of thoughts. I know I am meditating properly when I am thoughtless. Do not get discouraged if you try and fail. Keep practicing for only a few minutes a day. Your mind has been trained to think. It will take some time to train it to "not think".

The rewards are beyond compare.

There is actually another way not discussed above. It has to do with mental suspenders. Sleep is a suspender.

So if you learn to manage your dreams you can tap into your subconscious to solve problems.

It is how I create much of my art.

It is best explained in the below site.

Oh yeh, would you like to remember your dreams when you wake? Take a insulated mug and fill it with ice and cover. As soon as you wake, take a drink of the cold water and your dreams will come back to you in a fast forward flash of memory.

Try regular meditation. It may not happen right away or in a "conscious" tangible way, but likely over time. Just keep your thoughts clear and open the way to accepting knowledge from your subconscious or from the universe.

try shamanic journeying. theres a good book that can get you started called "Shamanic Journeying, A beginner's Guide" by Sandra Ingerman. the book even comes with a cd with drumming tracks. It definitely takes practice, like anything else, but it works once you get the hang of it! :o)

meditate, choose a quiet spot and let your mind drift on thoughts like flowing rivers...when you find yourself thinking pull it back...you can also do it with a one word mantra...you have to find your own and can't think about it to much, another technique is to blacken a room light a candle and stare into a mirror. Concentration is the enemy...practice makes perfect.

everyone learns several techniques then develops his own. the thing to remember is that the place you go to use your subconscious mind is a balance between relaxation and alertness. here's another hint, visualization is the key....you'll find things you could never imagine.

Yes. Try meditation. Relax, sit in a comfortable chair in a quiet room where you won't be disturbed, and picture yourself somewhere beautiful and peaceful. The answers you seek will come to you.
