To me, it's not a fear from death. I get pounding heart and anxiety attacks from airplanes, any fun adventure, even an island! what if I need help, where is the nearest hospital. Dont' worry, I've seen doctors :) and pills do not help. Do you all worry before you jump in? How do you control panick attacks? Does anyone feel they are at the verge of severe depression or psychological malfunction, and the whole world would leave you alone then?

You hear these terms thrown in in each political debate regarding taxes...
What are these things how do they each effect the way taxes are distributed on the society?
Lastly what is so wrong for thepepople who had the highest tax increase when the taxes went, up getting the biggest cut when the taxes go down? ( I am not one of those people, If I was, I would have personal CPAs answering these questions and I would not be asking this on Yahoo answers.)
Seems to me like if each time the taxes increase the most on the high income segment when they go up and decrease the most for the lowest icome people when thet go down, with each cycle the burden will kepp shifting more and more unfairly to people who have been paying the most taxes!

Last night I was robbed. I have never been more scared in my life but I held on for deal life onto my bag until I thought the guy was going to pull a knife or worst on me. What pisses me off the most was that I'm screaming for help and there's people around and no one would help me. I keep having flash backs of what happened. What can I do to help myself get pass this?

So much has been written about 'Harry Potter' as a social phenomenon, and although I love the books I can't help wondering whether, in 100 years time, anyone apart from Social Historians will even know JK Rowling's name.
Now I realise that the Internet, gloablisation of brands, cinema and what-have-you have all allowed Harry to become much bigger than would previously have been possible.
However, putting the above to one side, have there been any examples of books (or other social phenomenon) which made an 'enormous' stir at the time but are nowhere to be seen now? Anyone care to nominate the one(s) that has/have come closest?

You can't imagine how many times I've heard "You're more of a friend to me"
I can't help providing mental support when they need it but, you know, I'm a male primate. Not my fault.
So any tips on how to change it?

What happened to the great upbringing young boys use to have? Young boys were taught how to be a man, (including a gentlemen). Boys were made to be men who opened doors for a lady. Men who gave their seats for a lady. Men who wouldn't use vulgar language around a lady.

Men use to have a great pride. A man could be counted on to provide for his wife and children. Rich or poor, easy or hard, a man provided without excuse. A man couldn't look in the mirror unless he provided. Men use to risk their lives to protect a women. If he heard a scream, he was there. Big or small, strong or weak, he was there.

Men use to love to be a part of their childrens' lives. They were the fathers children could remember being told stories on the lap of. They were the fathers who were around to give a good spanking when needed. They were the fathers who taught their children the knowledge their fathers taught them.

Will all real men please stand up?!

I used to be against it for me personally, but now I think at least those animals get to run free before they are killed.

What about sport hunting like when Cheney shot that guy in the face? He wasn't planning to eat the quail, you just buy a few and they hide them and you kill them.

Fishing and Crabbing?

Bow hunting?

In this forum, provocation is quite current. Can anyone explain why people like to provoke, and what does it give them? Satisfaction? Does it mean they are frustrated?
