Well, the first thing you can do is lower your expectations.

Really, though, you have to realize that life does not always fit your expectations. I have learned that, as much as I may want something, if I don't get it, or if doesn't turn out the way I thought it would, at least it was a learning experience.

I still get frustrated, but less.

ok...I wouldn't have thought to answer this question at first. In fact I opened it because I struggle in a similar way and was hoping to get some insights from the many answers listed. Well, no offense, but...WHAT THE H*LL ARE THESE PEOPLE TRYING TO SAY??? I swear I got frustrated just trying to follow the jumbled words and twisted concepts. So instead I will attempt an answer:

As someone of little patience and a large, fragile ego I am often faced with disappointment , anger and even outbursts. I seem to take personally every word uttered anywhere on the planet.

Off the top of my head I would say that my only advice is to BITE YOUR TONGUE AND DO NOT TAKE IMMEDIATE ACTION. I still feel all the chaos inside but at least I don't compound the problem by "acting a fool" which often leaves me having to apologize to people I am frustrated with to begin with.

Time heals, it's hard so just morn for a time and try to shake it and try not to set your expectations so high next time, frustrated i have plenty of that do you want some of mine, it will be alright in time or at least in your next life. Good Luck

No matter what it was that frustrated, you are not a failure because you had the nerve to try, it doest always work out and we don't have a crystal ball to guild us, well some people do I think but still you try to do whatever it was and that is more that most can say, be proud of yourself

It's perfectly normal for everyone to feel that way when things do not come up to our expectations. Realise this is part and parcel of our life process, we can't avoid being dissapointed and frustrated when we don't get the things the way we want. Learn to accept it and let it go.

Do not expect and you won't get dissapointed. But life is full of high and low, just enjoy the ride. When faced with frustration, take a deep breath, think positively, accept with a smile and let it go. It's works for me.

Frustration stems from the feeling of the lack of control from those expectations, and we have a tendency to displace them. Which in turns turns into an non ending conclusion that we were seeking to begin with.
Expectations from yourself might mean nothing to somebody else. It's hard to separate the feeling of wanting to acknowledge what the other person is saying, from what you really need. If spent all my time compromising my beliefs, thoughts, feelings, etc. then I forget myself. So who is doing the compromising

I think one problem I contend with is low frustration tolerance. To help combat this I will try to change the environment or situation. Sometimes just that will allow me to see things from a different perspective. Another thing that I will try to do is focus on the process and enjoying it, rather than focusing on the outcome. Good luck!

I do not feel frustrated. The only 'thing' I can control is myself. Everything else can be affected by me. If he/she/or it has the ability to think it will react as they choose to, which may or may not be the way I expect. If the 'thing' does not have the ability to think, it will react according to physics or other sciences that may have to be learned to minimize the unexpected outcomes.

That is my logic.

It is natural that you will feel bad but try to shrug it off and focus on more important thing. Next time try to lower your expectation because it will really hurt you when it it fails.

Take a deep and reflect on when things did go your way. Then recite to yourself..."Things happen or not and life goes on & on & on....
