An intersexual or intersex person (or organism of any unisexual species) is one who is born with genitalia and/or secondary sex characteristics determined as neither exclusively male nor female, or which combine features of the male and female sexes. The terms hermaphrodite and pseudohermaphrodite, introduced in the 19th century, are now considered misleading and stigmatizing, and patient advocates call for these terms to be abandoned. The phrase "ambiguous genitalia" refers specifically to genital appearance, but not all intersex conditions result in atypical genital appearance.

There is currently a move by some activists to eliminate the term "intersex" in medical usage, replacing it with "Disorders of Sex Development" (DSD) in order to avoid conflating anatomy with identity. [1] However, this has been met with criticism from other activists who question a disease/disability model and advocate no legal definition of sexes, no gender assignments, no legal sex on birth certificates, and no official sexual orientation categories. [2]

According to the highest estimates (Fausto-Sterling et. al., 2000) perhaps 1 percent of live births exhibit some degree of sexual ambiguity [1], and that between 0.1% and 0.2% of live births are ambiguous enough to become the subject of specialist medical attention, including surgery to disguise their sexual ambiguity. Other sources (Leonard Sax, 2002) create a narrower definition of "true intersexual conditions" and estimate the incidence as far lower, at approximately 0.018%.

The word does not mean they are 1/2 male or female. It is also spelled hermaphrodite. It does mean - an animal or plant having both male and female reproductive organs. This does occur but these people should not be 'found' to entertain ourselves at their expense.

I watched a documentary once that used a camera inside the male urethra and it showed fossil-like traces of the female reproductive organs. You may want to find a biology book instead of a hermaphrodite.

The word you are looking for is Hermaphrodites, and they aren't like some of the Space Trek creatures, one half female and one half male. Or one half black and one half white. They are real, genuine, living persons, who happen to have dual gender equipment. Usually, after reaching puberty, they will make a choice whether to live as males or females, and have the surgical adjustment made.
As to where you find them -- do you think they live in a zoo or something? They're just ordinary people. You wouldn't even recognize one on the street as being any different from any other person you know.

HERMOPHITES? You mean you have not seen one? half-female and half-male?

The world is full of it, just look around you and visit any places especially the rich and the famous, you can find this kind of species. some of them have the body of a male but with a feature of a female, some have a body of female and feature of male.

long time ago, this species has been eradicated through brimstone and fire in sodom and gomorrah, but the viruses still lingers on. and many are still in canouflage, so it is very hard to distinguish them from the other.

a hermaphrodite is not the same as a transvestite. hermaphrodites are congenital abnormalities, they either have obvious male or female genitalias but they either have ovaries or testes respectively. many of the hermaphrodites do not know that they are one until further medical tests are done like, biopsy or just checking for the levels of sex hormones which may show abnormality. its hard to find them, because they may not know they are one or they are not telling everyone about it, right?

The word is Hermaphrodite! Look for them in malls, movie theaters, churches, bars, restaurants, and in general places where people congregate. They are as normal as you are.
