What person or group has had the most positive effect on the USA.?

Either Living or Dead what person on group has made the biggest POSITIVE, difference in America? Who are they, and what did they do?

This might be a bit cliche, but I would answer George Washington, John Adams.

The reason for this choice is because they set outstanding precedent in terms of how succession in government should happen. George Washington could have had a lifetime hold on the presidency, but he gave it up with an eye to future precedent. John Adams was gracious in the first non-voluntary exchange of power. Without these selfless acts, the United States may have turned to civil war far earlier than it did and left a fledgling nation open to the vultures of European monarchies.

Beyond this answer I would tend to say the earliest female and abolitionist leaders (Stanton and Douglas come to mind) as well as early union leaders like Mitchell who paved the way for the creation of the middle class.

That is impossible to say...every group has made their contribution that's what makes America great from the Chinese that helped build the railroads to the Slaves that built the Cotton/Tabacco industry to all the Italian/Irish/Jewish immigrants that helped build the cities...it's just everyone.

I would say none, because they had a hidden agenda with what ever they were trying to sell, but I have a warm spot for JF Kennedy

Welfare System, that helped with the poverty in America

It's impossible to tell... Personally, my favourite group is the blacks of the Civil Rights Movement. It's such a beautiful story of humanity.

as much as i don't want to admit it, immigrants past present and future have had the greatest positive impact on american life.....
but too much of a good thing can be devastating
