We have been standing, in the corner,to the side, or out of the way.
We who are real men will never shout to be seen that we are holding the door, working like dogs to provide for our familys, and although they may sing songs about us. they don't ever know opur names. The women who have found these Real men are Grateful and do not announce what they have for fear of someone trying to take us a way. It sounds old fashioned and sexist, but no more than women put on each other. My Wife just recently tried to return to the work force after 6 years of me providing solely for our family, While she took care of our child and the House. No woman in Human Resources would give her a chance. She finly got on with a company that had a man running their HR department. Funny that! men often tolerate women much more that women do?

Some men were like that, but not all men would run to the aid of a woman whenever she needed it. Some men didn't take care of their children.
I know that my father is a real man. When my mother quit her full-time job as a banker to get a part time job my father took three more jobs so he could continue to support us the way we were. At one point of my life, I remember my dad had five jobs, but my mom asked him to quit one so he could spend more time at home with us. My dad always enjoyed helping people man or woman when they needed a friend help.
My dad has always opened the door for everyone because he was kind, he gave up his seat on a bus to pregnant women, men/women holding bags, and men/women with children.
My father was raised by his mother. Yes, his mother because his father died when he was seven. And, he turned out as a real man. He helped to cook, clean, and take care of us when we were sick. That's what makes a real man, someone who's there to help anyone not just a female.

You wrote it in a very touching way, though I'm not sure all men or at least most men were like this- it sounds too good to be true!
Anyway, I'm sure some good men are still and always will be around, cos if not - Gees, what am I gonna do when I'll be seaking for a husband!? Let's just hope the situation will improve by then... :S

Democestes has a great answer.
I am female and I in no way believe that every man was good but they are absolutely not all evil like the feminists like to portray them. My grandmother was born in 1924. She stayed home and raised her 3 children and mostly raised her 2 grandchildren. She is in no way a victim of my grandfather who went to work everyday. She is a strong woman with strong morals. I can't stand when today's feminists like to paint her as some kind of victim of her evil husband.
Real men take care of their families. Some of male gender that you see today not doing this are this way in no small part because of feminism and women's rights. The real men are out there but it takes a real woman to find them.

Hehe... Go back to the past and see what men really were like. Don't have illusions we were always the same. Yes, we treated well fine girls, but in fact behaved the same as today with prostitutes (with whom we were more honest).
Anyway, where are the real girls who only care about our family and making us happy, not carng about theirselves? :)

Did you just recently watch Superman or something? It seems to me that your expectations are extremely high and idealistic. Of course we all wish that in our men but what do the men expect from us that we don't provide anymore?
have dinner on the table by the time they get home from work.
Watch the children.
Dress to impress everytime you see them.
etc, etc
