I encountered a very large flock of buzzards eating an armadillo, and almost hit one. I truly wondered if I had, would the others have then eaten the buzzard???

I was wondering how fast tarantulas can run, because in typical Hollywood movies they seem to always creep slowly. Sure, they have venemous fangs and all, but is that their main advantage in catching prey? When they catch small animals like mice, wouldn't they need to be fast for their size to catch up with the critters?

Any measurement of speed is good--it doesn't have to be miles per hour, because they might be slower than that... they are pretty small.

Thanks for your help!
