If you are humane and would like to do it humanely...I would call a live-trap animal control officer for proper advice on how to remove the bats, He won't charge you for the phone call...If you can, place some bat houses in some trees a safe distance from your house, yet close enough for them to have contact with them.
Hopefully they will find them more hospitable than their current residence......
Bats are very beneficial creatures to have around, don't forget, But I agree in the house is no place for the little darlings. Good Luck!!

They're probably roosting in your attic and accidentally getting into your house. The last place they want to be is inside your house with you, they just want to get outside to eat bugs. If it's in your house close all doors to other rooms. Open doors or unscreened windows in the room that the bat is in. Being in an enclosed room is very confusing to the bat because it throws off their sonar. It'll probably fly around a little bit then rest for a while but eventually it will find the open space and fly out. Make sure that you see it fly out tho cuz it may hide somewhere and then come out the next evening.

I've been down this road before, just close the room that they are in. You don't need a net... Unfortunetly, it's daytime now so they probably won't be going out until dusk. When it's time for them to go out, just have the window or door open, and they will find their way out. The important thing is to find someone that can help you bat-proof your house, and seal up how they got into your living area. Have them come out and check for openings. No need to hurt the poor thing, so please be nice.

Close all doors leading to the rest of the house, open windows and the bat will usually leave itself. They will leave in the evening to feed, so you will need to figure out ahead of time WHERE they are entering so you can seal it up once they are out of there. They can squeeze into very small cracks, chimneys, etc. Remember almost all bats are protected species due to the decline of all of them due to habitat destruction and it is illegal to harm or kill them. They are actually very beneficially to have around to control insect populations (especially mosquitos). Good luck.

First locate the bat. They are frequently up high on a wall or up in a high corner.
Get a fish net and place it over the bat. Wear leather gloves, because they do bite.
If he comes off the wall into the net on his own, simply choke off the net above him and move him outside. Simply lay the net on the ground and let him fly off on his own.
If he doesn't come off the wall on his own, simply grab him with the leather gloves through the net and move him outside and let him fly off as above.
Just take you time. The more you chase him the more difficult removing him is going to be.
Good luck!

I had a cat that caught bats. When I found one inside, and she wasn't around, I opened door, and used pool noodle to "herd" it towards door. It worked, but check attic, or vents to see how it got in, and block its door, at nite once it is gone 4 nite

they say,, watch at dusk for the area that it leaves from, and AFTER it leaves, close that area up. Look for young bats first,, so as not to deprive them of thier parents, with kindness.

Sorry you can't. If you live in England, they are a protected species and they have priority over you. Learn to live with them, and the smell .... and the poo .... and the fluttering (shudders)
