I have come close to those birds in my local southern cali desert and they take off real quick!!!!

They are fast little critters that is for certain, but neat guys as all get out! I miss the little guys waltzing or running along side the road as I am driving in the middle of the Arizona-Sonoran desert. Man that was neat stuff. :)
