Weather - February 2007

Before it snows its always cold... but how come it never feels as cold when its snowing? I've been asking everyone.... anyone know why?

It is something i would love to do, just once, as where i live in the UK we never get extreme weather of any kind. So it would be an amazing experience to see a tornado.

I dont mind travelling to US or anywhere else for that matter. Any advice/help will be much appreciated.

Ok, this theory sounds weird. Since the ice is melting in Antarctica. Why don't scientists just put lots of man-made ice (ice that takes long long time to melt) in Antarctica. Is this a good suggestion?

since in the northern hemisphere we're closer to the sun in the winter but in the southern hemisphere we're farther are the winters colder in the southern hemisphere?

Okay, I know it seems like a stupid question. Obviously there is some wind there (which can be expected). But the reason I ask is that I am moving there soon and being from Wyoming (where the wind is out of control) I was curious as to whether or not it compares to our state.
