No photos where shown of the actual tornado on the evening news programs but the damage was. The count as of 6 p.m. was 19 and over 500 homes demolished but they thought both would go higher as they look through the wreckage. The reason for the high death count was that it occurred around 3 a.m. and none of the areas had sirens to warn anybody. Even if they were awake and heard it coming, few houses in Florida have basements because of the high water table and a lot of the damage was done to mobile homes.

I saw the widespread damage leftover. I heard there were 14 casualties though
