We Aussies love the heat.
What do you think?

Could it be possible to collect vast quantities of rain water from the NW and dump it on the SW? Wouldn't this benefit both places by taking moisture out of the air in one place and putting it in another?

I heard from my father that it snowed one time in the 70's. Do you know if that is true? Or is it possible that it could snow here again?

Global warming is now finally proven to be effecting our planet. Coal usage is on the rise rather than being phased out. Gasoline cars are still being produced by the millions. The rain forests(lungs of the planet) are still being destroyed. Hybrid vehicles are too expensive for the average consumer due to the economy. The polar caps and greenland are melting. The pacific ocean may soon enter a phase of continous El'nino. The global ocean conveyor is slowing down due to the influx of fresh water.
These are just a few of the problems we face right now. These problems will become far worse in the very near future if the world continues to take it's present course. It seems to me, that most of the incoming theories of how to solve some issues are a step in the wrong direction such as creating new bio-fuels instead of eliminating burning fuels all together. Has anyone considered the geological effects to plate techtonics if the polar caps melt and the earth is thrown off balance?

I was just wondering. Remember how they were saying this was going to be a really really busy hurricane season? Well, there has not been a single hurricane yet anywhere near our coast. I wonder why? Could they be wrong? Or maybe it's just not the time yet? Logically, from what they were forcasting, there would have to be a hurricane once a week to catch up with all the number they were promising. Just a thought....

There seems to be no agreement on; past answers to the question are in the "it depends" category.

So everyone has heard of Global Warming, but this last few days has been a major sign of Global Warming. All over USA, everywhere was 100 Degrees or higher, There were many blackouts in many cities, im guessing everyone using the AC, thousand of farm animals dieing due to the heat, even a problem with ice on the news?!! i thought i never see that on the news. Apparantly the ice factories are excessivly making more ice because every restaurant/people are asking for more. The employees stay extra hours and still doesnt make enough. They sell most of it be the next morning.

Yeah, well global warming has striked us harder and sooner than we thought and it will just get worse every year.

They say he can tell how far a t-storm is away by the seconds between the flash of lightning and the rumble of thunder. My question is, what if there are multiple flashes of lightning before the rumble; how does that effect the count?
