Oddly enough one of the engineers at the plant could not answer my question. What is 'ductile iron' and why can it not be welded?

we depend on shops and stores for food clothing and shelter, but only a few of us really know how to grow plants, make clothes and build houses. if things don't change don't you think 100 yrs or so from now humans would be so dependent on technology they might forget how to grow crops or how to build shelter.? as the years pass by slowly people are forgetting about basic knowledge of living. they are becoming more and more concern in the areas of technology.. wanting to make everything easy and automatic. do you think it is possible for human beings in the future to forget the basic means of survival in nature?

What I'm trying to find out is the minimum amount of time it has taken for one species (it doesn't matter which) to evolve into another distinct species, possibly also how long on average it would take an individual member of that species to reproduce.

I am no expert on the subject of evolution and I may have incorrectly phrased the question. Please forgive me if this is the case and feel free to give whatever answer you can.

Our plumber hooked up the hot water to my ice maker, saying that many people think it freezes faster because of how much energy it takes to get water temperature moving. Once it gets moving in the right direction, it can move faster and faster. Have ya heard this? Okay, so does cold water boil faster? Just wondering.....

You notice that the other freezers are upright and have doors. Which freezer design is better for keeping the cold air in and why?
