Microwave is an electromagnetic wave which has a protracted wavelength yet a small potential with particularly severe frequency. The potential of the microwave won't be able to excite an electron from the floor state to excited state potential point as UV easy does. Microwave set off an alternating electric powered field. And if the fabric that's uncovered to microwave is a polar textile like water it tries to allign itself with this field. This generates warmth and rotating molecules collide different molecules and lead them to circulate to boot. purely, if the fabric incorporates water, then it rather is going to start to get heated. If this could be a residing being it gets burned to loss of existence from interior. maximum residing beings have water of their cells so mice will certainly die. An ant probable incorporates much less water than a mouse so it rather is going to proceed to exist for longer besides the shown fact that it rather is going to additionally die at last

Apparently they can, because the microwave heat is conveyed in straight beams from the top to the bottom- if they get hit by one of the beams, it's game over, but they are small enough to dodge them. One ant microwaved for a minute will probably be fine, but a thousand ants in there will sustain high casulties, because they won't all be able to dodge.

Yes, If they are small enough to not get hit by a wave, and you don't leave them in too long.
