i was watching the omen this afternoon and there was a point when the nanny, (mRs Bayfield) went in to the hospital to first her poorly madam and she had a needle filled with air and jected it in to her drip. this meant the air bubble went in to her blood stream. i know that this is dangerous but why is it fatal. if you inject someone into the vien with air why does it cause them to die????

I had a gallbladder operation in Jan. Supposedly to be small operation. In and out. Well when I woke up I felt great went home and that evening my stomach swelled and I was in horrible pain. Spent twelve hours in emergency screaming in pain. The next day in late afternoon my doctor finally ordered me to be opened up again. I didnt know what was wrong till I was entering the operating room. She finally emerged and told me i was only 1% of the population with this extra duct from my liver. apparently the bile was filling in my abdominal cavity and it was the worst pain ever. Apparently my organs could have ceased. What would you do? I had to wear a tube to empty the liquid for weeks after..Would you sue?

I am a senior in highschool and im thinking about what i want to major in.
My ultimate career choice is medicine. I'd like to do really good durring my undergrad get a good score on my mcats and get into med school. God forbid, if this doesn't happen I dont want to get stuck sitting in a lab for the rest of my life with a degree in bio.
I've narrowed down my second career pathway to Physical Therapy...I learned that the prephysical therapy requirments are almost the same as the ones for premed so if for any reason med school didn't work out I would probably only be taking 1 or 2 extra courses and that wouldnt waste too much time.
So, because my ultimate goal is to become a doctor but the reality is that not everyone makes it...is choosing kinesiology or movement sciences as my major a bad idea? I know that healthcare is what interests me however I dont want to major in biology or chemistry or physics. Everyone says that med school looks for a diversity of majors.
What should i do?!

Immediate priapism? Quick erection? Anything truly harmful? And I mean what would probably happen, not possibly, because anything is possible. Say at the age of 23. How would it effect his nocturnal erections if it were to be in his system while sleeping?

I've heard so much bad things about the nursing field, like being overworked and underpaid. I'm wondering if they(nurses) had a second chance, would they have chosen a different career path.

How come when you're getting your DTP (DTap) shot, your arm is extremely sore afterwards? I asked my doctor the question and he didn't seem to answer. Also, if you're getting the Gardasil shot and also your PPD on the same day as your DTP (DTaP) does it cause you to feel sicker? I know that with Gardasil itself, it makes you feel sick, but what about the other shots?

up.

I am not asking about whether you think abortion is right or wrong.

I am simply asking if what I heard is true.

Also because the answers of this question will be on both sides, could you tell me sources that back up your claim?

Thank you for your assistance.

I asked this previously under a different subject title, and I got little in the way of helpful responses. Can someone tell me what type doc I should see for shingles? I've was diagnosed by my gp, but I don't feel he is totally ethical in his approach to things. I need to know, do I check into seeing a neurologist? Dermatologist? Please, someone -- anyone, can you be of some assistance? If you answered under another subject, please don't repost the same answers. I need a new set of helpful answers.
