I'm going in for this procedure, but the area will be numbed with a local anesthesia. I'll be in and out in about a hour. Is this considered a surgery?

Is radioactive treatment actually safe? What are the side affects - temporary or lasting, and what are the benefits? I know people that have had thyroid surgery and have done fine afterwards. Also, since it takes a while for the thyroid gland to shut down, wouldn't surgery be better if you want to be back to normal sooner? P.S. My doctor is pushing radioactive treatment. But first he wants me to go on an anti-thyroid medication. What is the success rate of anti-thyroid medication. I don't like putting poison into my body.

I heard that they re-use the colonoscopy equipment on many patients and that it's not always cleansed and sterilized properly. This is GROSS. What if the person prior to you had HIV? I'm sure this could be passed on to the next person or some kind of wicked infection?
Why doesn't each person get new equipment like they do when a colonic is done? I imagine it's the health care system in the US just tryin to save a buck, and to Hell with the patient's health.

Does anyone know if you have a script to have a medical test done, say a mammogram, can you have the test done in another state? I know if the other state accepts your insurance, I don't see why not (I have a PPO with United Healthcare.) The medical profession in Florida is the pits, I want to go back to NY to have any medical tests done, (at least NY doctors don't amputate a person's healthy foot and leave the diseased one there!!)
Please advise.

34,240mgs of acetaminpehn(tylenol) + 8.75mg of chlorpheninamine maleate(sometime in a flu medicine) + 60mg of dextromethorpahn HBr(sometime else in flu medicine) + 125mg of diphenhydramin HCI + a 355ml bottle of 3.2% alcohal. I'm doing a report on this guy who died while he was high. This part is just telling about how this alone would have killed him, and how not using drugs could have saved him from this.
