It is said that increased cardiac output may be an early feature, followed by increased peripheral resistance and normalisation of cardiac output.
The increased peripheral resistance is developed in a compensatory manner to prevent the raised pressure being transmitted to the capillary bed where it would substantially affect homeostasis.
What i don't understand is why is peripheral resistance developed when cardiac output increased? How does this mechanism work?
And does this only apply to essential hypertension?
Thanks.

My question is, if you are taking a tablet for lets say depression, and the make you are given by the pharmacist is different then is there a chance the tablet could be different or because it is the same name of tablet then should it be the same mixture, a baked bean changes per brand so does a tablet.?

Also if you do take tablets then do you ever find your body needs to adapt to a new brand, or do you notice nothing?

I'm worried about my heart health. Is it ok to do this without doing harm to some other part of my body? Is there a limit to how much I should take daily? (It's from flaxseed oil, in pill form)

I hate people who say innacurate things, and even more when they are convinced that they know what they are saying.

For example, I've had a relative who used to say with all conviction that children always inherited their father's blood type, or that people only died when the heart stopped and not when the brain died, among other nonsense.

So, please help me not to be one of those people.

My aunt had a stroke, and lost all her mental and motor skills.
She lies on bed all day, she doesn't move and although she opens her eyes she doesn't recognize anybody.
She can't eat on her own, and she wears diapers.
She has been living like this for 6 years.

So, am I correct to say that all her cerebral functions were damaged?
Or, does cerebral activity only stop when the person dies?

(You can complete this with any information that you find pertinent).

I have a lot of headaches, both tension and migraine. I have different kinds of painkillers and mostly they work fine but sometimes I can feel them stop working and the headache returns. Is it possible that one type of tablet is a painkiller and another type a pain delayer? Or is there a physical reason some headaches outlast the pain medication?

Please help me name that part! I would prefer to know the complex medical name for this part or chemical or whatever it may be that controlls "fun" in the brain.

FYI: This is not homework... as I graduated college years ago.
