All doctors have to have some basic intelligence, because we have to do well in college and on the MCAT in order to be accepted into medical school, and we have to study pretty hard to get through medical school.

You don't have to be a complete brainiac - the stuff we learn isn't hard to understand, it's just that we have to learn SO MUCH in a short time. It's also very important that we learn it, because lives really do depend upon it.

You can forget about derm if you're not at the top ofyour class, though. It's one of the tougher specialties to get a residency spot in.

If you don't get good grades, medical schools will not be inclined to look favorably on your application. Most of the doctors I know cruised through high school and college without difficulty and got very good grades. You'll be competing with people like that for limited medical school spots.

Med school really is a LOT of work. If you don't have the study habits and personal drive to succeed now, the chance of you making it through medical school is slim.

You don't need to be smart to be doctor. But to get admission in medical school, you have to get good grades. Otherwise, people with better grades are given admission leaving you behind !

What do they call a doctor that got all C's in college?
A doctor. But I wouldn't want an under-acheiver MD.
Work your *** off. It's your life. Take control.

You need good grades to get into med school and you need to be smart/work hard to get through med school. If you don't get good grades, you aren't working hard enough and should get a tutor.
