I went to my doctor for back pain, and headaches, and he gave me Ketoprofen 75mg. I went to fill it and the pharmacist told me it was the same thing as Ibuprofen OTC. I looked it up in my drug book, and found that they are very similar, and both NSAID's, but not the exact same thing. I know that the Ibuprofen was labeled as "OTC" and Ketoprofen was labeled "also available without a prescription" Is there a difference? Maybe the base product used to make the drug? I dont know. I am a nurse and it benefits me to research drugs as I come across them. Any help would be aprreciated. Thank you!

I have a used thoracic stethescope that is in remarkably good condition. However, I don't want to just clean it, but to sterilize it, if at all possible. Who knows where it's been, although it looks like it's never been used.

I'm this side of being a "germaphobe" and I want to make sure this thing is really clean in every nook and crevice!

Thanks!

No need to slag the statement off in detail should you feel the need. I know there's a few open minded neurologistsy types of people on Answers!. Hope you catch this question. :-)

You probably know that this drug is the main active ingredient used in Ecstasy... but I read some stuff about experiments conducted on mice that showed the drug causing 'Hardening of the heart wall'!!
Naturally, i'm a bit concerned about this..

The question is, does anyone know or can speculate how long you'd have to be using this drug for this to be a real concern.
I'm not overly fussed about the other problem with messing with the seretonin receptors, just about the whole heart issue!

I know this is a tricky/silly question to be askin the general public, but I certainly won't be able to ask anyone else :(

My cousin is in medical school right now. Sometimes she gets really fed up with studying (but she's still determant to be a doc) so I myself try to cheer her up by saying: eh youl'l graduate soon and get rid of all the studying. She says being a doc will probably be more difficult than being a student doc, is she right, I mean I know she'll have to work long hours, but there won't be studying for long hours....and all that boredom. ain't I right? if not then what else can I tell her to cheer her up when she's really frustrated (which doesn not happen all the time by the way, like only once a month or so :) )
