There are several differences, some of which have been pointed out and explained quite clearly by the other two doctors.
They both invovle tubes with viewing lenses.
They are both diagnostic procedures.
Endoscopy, which involves the insertion of a tube to look at the INSIDE of organs, is not considered surgery, while laparoscopy by its nature is indeed surgery, though minimally invasive, and perhaps only for viewing purposes, though laparoscopic surgery may be surgery in the truer sense of the word, involving the removal of the gall bladder for instance. Most patients are most familiar with the endoscopy that is called gastroscopy, which involves the tube going down the throat, into the stomach. It may take a biopsy (tissue sample to be used to determine status) as well.

Endoscopy is a medical procedure that uses tube-like instruments (endoscopes) to look at the inside of the body . This procedure is different from imaging tests, such as x-rays, which also look at the inside of the body but do not usually place instruments in the body.
Laparoscopy is a type of surgical procedure in which a small incision is made, usually in the navel, through which a viewing tube (laparoscope) is inserted. The viewing tube has a small camera on the eyepiece. This allows the doctor to examine the abdominal and pelvic organs on a video monitor connected to the tube. Other small incisions can be made to insert instruments to perform procedures. Laparoscopy can be done to diagnose conditions or to perform certain types of operations. It is less invasive than regular open abdominal surgery (laparotomy).

Endoscopy uses a scope to look at the inside of your digestive system.
Laparoscopy uses a scope to go into the belly and view the outside of the digestive system, plus the other organs of the abdomen and pelvis.
