Being a doctor is a big responsibility-most of my relatives are doctors, and I'm studying to be one!

Why Doctor? Why not, Engineer, or something else? Well, first off, to be a really good doctor, you have to be interested in the field itself. It has to appeal to you, and if you are very interested in the field, you'll be able to answer your own question. If you're not sure of the answer, and doubting it, you may search in a different field.

Personally, I believe being a good doctor benefits everyone. Just think, someone is coming to YOU for their needs, and they want your help. Its great for self esteem etc, but it is also a well paying job. Being any kind of doctor benefits someone, or everyone...depending on if you become a medical researcher, a normal family doctor, or a surgeon, someone is always counting on you for help.

Being a doctor benefits you in many ways too. After studying in medical school and so forth, you know everything about your field. If anything were to happen to you, or a family member, you'd know what to do right away, and you'd always be there to help...

Hope this answers your question!

I was going to be a doctor, once, when I was just a child i saw this movie about some killer doctors, it wasn't real though, you know, like Hollywood, Hollyweird, so, after I seen that movie called "Doctors In the Operating Room" I said, I want to be a doctor, and I was only six years old. so, I grow, reading, doing necessary research to keep up with reality, and then, I seen this movie about this mad crazy doctor that creates a monster called Frankenstein, and woe is me, I was nearly a teenager when i seen that flick, and I had nightmares, plenty of those earth shaking nightmares that rocked me wild out of my sleep. And guess what? That was when I quit thinking about wanting to be a doctor. So I'm now a brain surgeon. I'm pretty good at it, except I have to take a chill pill from time to time. I can't operate on Sunday because it is the day of rest, uh, supposedly so i follow the rules, because when i do operate on someones brain, things usually don't go well. So, I now operate on my car as a mechanic and perform nothing else cause I lost my medical practice when some guys brain I operated on took a turn for the worst. No, this guy didn't end up dying, what occurred was that after the operation and when this guy woke up, oh no, he was no longer a man, for some strange reason this guy was suddenly a woman except his voice stayed talking like a guys voice. Haleluyahhh.

It has to be a calling to be a doctor, some doctors are not worth a crap and dont help the patient and then there are others that are really great doctors.
In grandma's days, doctors did not have degrees but knew
about healing through instinct and rode a horse and carried
a black bag with medicine.
So, it is really a calling from God to be a real good Doctor.
Good Luck being a Doc.

my believe is that no person should be a physician or a nurse unless the person is so driven or called as some say to the field that they really would do it if the pay was greatly reduced and perhaps if possible do it even if the pay was not there.
both people not only need to be smart but they have to truly desire to help and truly care deeply and passionately about the hope of helping relive pain cure people prevent illness
and in some cases discover new means of treatment a new cure .
a person who is an engineer of some kind may have a good Christan back ground or spiritual back ground or even just a moral compass that says help others but they are aware that being a physician is not just a job or career but is a calling i believe even for the atheist physician who i have met very few of . felt this calling and responded to it.

It is the most noble profession

But become a doctor only if you are really interested in the field and it really appeals to you, so you can be a GOOD doctor.

Money is nice but it is secondary.
