I heard that many years ago, medics in the french millitary discovered that coconut water could be used as an emergency substitute for human blood-plasma... it sounds plainly rediculous to me but i cannot help but think that there may be a shred of truth in it...

Some research findings suggest that certain adult stem cells can act as pluripotent cells. With continued rearch, clarity of this matter may solve the ethical issues behind ES isolation and research and provide hope for patients ( any idea on it )?

If someone has high blood pressure is it caused by high levels of cholestrol in the blood. And if someone is prescribed statins to prevent the further build up of plaque in the arteries, will taking this type of medication automatically lower blood pressure levels.

And is it necessary to take medication for both blood pressure and cholestrol.

How do statins work and how do blood pressure reducing tablets work. Are they not one of the same component ?

The statins work on the liver enzymes but what do blood pressure tablets work on.

Lots of questions about the same thing. I am concerned because my husband has been prescribed both. Even though he is a very active man I suspect his high cholestrol levels are due to wrong diet. He works away from home.

I want to be able to say to my husband Look this is what the score is with your tablets and this is why you must take them'.

His doctor has prescribed but not explained why he has.

I am building a basic drug simulation program for a project right now where you are tasked with modeling the concentration of whatever drug in the body, specifically the oral, central, and peripheral compartments. To enhance my model I am looking to add gender, age, and weight factors.

My question specifically: What are the some general effects of gender, age, and weight on the metabolization of drugs in the body?

For the last month or so I have been on zoloft for anxiety, I find it helps but I really don't feel I need to be on it as my anxiety isn't that bad, my doctor has slowly tapered me off it and I have had no side effects as I was never taking more than 50 mg's a day, and I have been off it for 2 days. I bought some St. Johns Wort to help a little with the anxiety, I took a more herbal approach, I was just wondering if its safe to take it yet or should I wait a few more days, I know you are not supposed to mix the two as serotonin poisoning can result! thanks for any help

ok so me and my friend were tinkering with a firecracker, i was looking at it closely when a pice of the red powder went into my eye (very painful) and every time i would blink it was worse. so my friend had some eye drops he emptied the bottle of its original contents, put some water in it along with some dissolved street cocaine (anesthetic) and told me to put some in my eye. and as you can imagine with the pain i had, i did not hesitate. it got rid of the pain and later i flushed my eyes with water to got rid of the red little rock that fell in. NOW my question is, was my friend just trying to get me high or triying to help the pain. can you even get high with cocaine in your eyes, if so would it show up in a drug test? NO IM NOT A COKEHEAD
