What does it mean to have a Joint Degree?

to the best of my knowledge it means you basically got two degrees. for example you can get an MD and an MBA at the same time (taking classes together as opposed to graduating from one program and then going into the other) by spending more time in school.
also some residency programs offer dual board certifications, for example someone can specialize in Pediatrics and Internal Medicine at the same time (obviously longer training)

if this doesn't answer your question, please give more detail.
