Go for it with both barrels and plenty of funding.
The ethical and moral issues be damned.
Let's take care of the people living with the pain and suffering now - and worry about the PC laws and regulations as we progress. They'll be plenty of time to debate while the research progresses - and the results of the ongoing reseach will bolster the debates with a lot more facts than we now have.
My daughter has had three kidney transplants and too many adverse reactions to the many different drugs she has to take to even count - some years, she spends more time in the hospital than outside at home.
God knows I am thankful for these procedures and the immune-suppression drugs, but stem cell research holds real promise that some day a new kidney - from her own matching cells and DNA - maybe a reality.
And some of the cures for the debilitating and fatal diseases today, such as nerve and spinal cord injuries, auto-immune diseases such as MS, with no known cure or even successful treatment may well be discovered with this research.
Again I say - go for it and stop wasting talent and resources discovering new ways to grow hair, remove wrinkles and improve our sex life!

I am personally in favor of stem cell research. It's a well known fact that embryonic stem cells have the ability to morph into any bodily substance. Why not utilize the discarded cells to benefit us all?

i think its a good thing.
but when it comes from aborted babies, i'm 100% against it.
we can get stem cells from umbilical cords and adults.
and actually those 2 are proven to be better than aborted babies.

if the baby is already aborted, and already dead, would it not be more morally wrong to waste the potential for saving lives? Maybe I missed something but why cant we save lives again???
