I understand how an antenna absorbs RF radiation at a certain frequency. What I need to know is, how does the electricity from an antenna get into a circuit? If it is just a piece of wire attached at one end, how does electricity go through it? I thought that a circuit had to be joined at both ends for electrons to go through it. Please help me understand how I could for example, charge a battery from radio waves. Thanks a bunch!

Why is it that apparently just NASA's space shuttle seems to be experiencing continued heat shield problems, whereas the Russians NEVER report any such problems with their space crafts? Do they have better scientists than NASA?

I need to know how to make real-world use of accelerometer measurements. We have a Summit Instruments 3-axis unit with a 1K rolloff frequency (hardware filtering cuts that back to about 100 Hz).

Just calculating gravity has proved to be more difficult than I had thought, as even with a very long low pass filter, I am still left with wiggles that can't possibly be from a change in gravity.

The integration error getting to velocity is huge, orders of magnitude larger than my known average velocity. Determining displacement remains just a dream.

I have had some success in caging my errors since I do have a known average velocity and can detect points in the data where all motion has stopped, providing me with some known zero velocity points.

Can anyone steer me in the direction of application-level references (theory books are pretty much useless)?

I keep running into Kalman filters. What is special about them and why would they be applied to the accelerometer problem?

Can a large amount of thrust be produced by a nuclear fusion Tokamak reactor or a magnetic mirror?
Since hydrogen is plentiful this would be the ideal fuel source. And since fusion generates a lot of energy, this would be ideal for propulsion.

is there any connection between the standard they use to construct the bridge with Load Resistance and Factor Design (LRFD), standard for steel construction design?
I'm so afraid if it happen cause steel constructions design in most Indonesia based on American Standard Design, n it taught in most university in Indonesia....
I hope there is no mistake...

Surface area of what? Is it the area of the hollow circle created by the loop? The total surface area of the wound wire? Would a big loop, say, hula hoop size, with one winding, work just as good as a 4" rod inside the radio if the surface area of the windings were equal?

Solar System feeds my equipment. My problem is in the RTU (Remote Terminal Unit ) which is used to send some data from a remote area . It is fed by DC through Battery Bank .
Battery Bank is fed by the Solar System. Many problems happen frequently because of the Battery Bank which is affected by the very bad ,hot , and sandy environment.

Hi Folks,
Being a power bod in the middle east, I found ultimate control.
Oh, not personally, but due to the systems to function from time to time. I need to shut off a town. If I cannot get the thing back up to speed - well, forget shops, supermsrkets, air-con, lighting, fuel pumps, no transport, nothing except what is retreivable in the larder, and a paraffin lamp.
I think that us sparks hould be given greater consideration.
And pay.
