No electrical power - Do you grind to a halt.?

Hi Folks,
Being a power bod in the middle east, I found ultimate control.
Oh, not personally, but due to the systems to function from time to time. I need to shut off a town. If I cannot get the thing back up to speed - well, forget shops, supermsrkets, air-con, lighting, fuel pumps, no transport, nothing except what is retreivable in the larder, and a paraffin lamp.
I think that us sparks hould be given greater consideration.
And pay.

All of us Engineers could make the same argument.

Civil Engineers -- without them you wouldn't have a power plant (no building designs, no infrastructure, no permits).

Chemical Engineers -- without them you wouldn't have fuel to use in your plant

Mechanical Engineers -- without them you wouldn't have materials to build the plant and the thermodynamic cycle used in the plant.

All of them are key to power generation and distribution and all of them could argue for a raise!

I fully agree with this guy, we sparkys should be given more money and lot more consideration, consider that its us who goes out there and do the job and not the engineers and its us who deals with the engineers f*** up`s.

Right! And if you indiscriminately cut power your boss will fire you, and the police may arrest you for breaking several laws.

Don't forget, hospitals use power, water treatment plants use power, fire stations use power, waster treatment plants use power. When their backup generators fail, and people start dying whose fault is it?
