My question is...

Could we built a structure a mile high? Five miles high? Higher? Perhaps a monolithic structure such as a single column tower or something similar would be more difficult but what if the object had an enormous/deep base - say 10 miles for example - could it support a structure one mile (or more) high? What would prevent this? Gravity? Wind sheer? Techtonic movement?

Regards
Conor

There are many forms of energy being discussed around the world right now. I’ve recently stumbled onto a topic in Australia. They apparently have found a way to make what they have coined a “steam cell’ which should not be confused with a stem cell. According to company called Enginion AG, they have found a way to make steam in about 30 seconds. Does anybody know exactly about the process which they use to achieve this?

Is water polymer or monomer?
What's the meaning of polymer or monomer?
Does monomer just mean a single molecule of an element?
like O-H-O

And polymer means lots of those "single molecule"? like:
with lots of O-H-O joined together?

Please answer it as simple as possible. THanks :)

Dear All,

How can I calculate how much energy converted from Solar Energy to Electricity? Does it based on the how strong of the sunlight? Does it based on how many solar cell? Any detail equations for this purpose?

Thanks a lot.

I'm currently working on a small project, and I need to make a case for some things by vacuum-forming. The problem is, I don't have a v-f table. Does anyone know a cheap way to make one (like out of wood or something) and how to actually construct one?

My thought is that a large portion of road collapsed due to the resurfacing and damaged the bridge's support.

It's obvious the talking heads on TV have nothing of substance to add at this point, so I'm turning to the yahoo for some great expert and thinks-they're-an-expert opinions.

Does a power station have a set of wires leaving it and travelling to the electrical network and a set of wires coming back into it from the electrical network, in much the same way as the + and - terminals of a battery? If not, why not?

Also, does an electrical appliance, e.g. a hairdryer, also have + and - coming from and going back to the electrical socket?
